Slingshot Batteries E Power cells

Slingshot Batteries have announced the introducion of E Power cells to their line of products, which is headlined by the 4500MAH NiMh cell. Slingshot Batteries offers this durable cell in both Factory and Team levels and has the voltage racers need coupled with longer runtimes and low IR numbers. The new E Power cells are also available in 4500 Stick Packs for longer runtimes and more power for your RC car and come supplied with Tamiya style connector, heavy duty leads and clear shrink. Finally from Slingshot is the E Power 1600MAH RX hump pack which fits most vehicles available in todays market and is a dependable RX pack to use in long main events.

O’Donnell cleaner & O’Lube Krytech Lubricant

O’Donnell have released 2 new must have products for rc racers. First up is this Speed Wash Cleaner that contains five cleaning agents and applies with or without water. It’s safe for titanium, aluminum, fiberglass, clear coat, stainless steel, chrome, rubber, plastic, vinyl and leather. Also new is the O’Lube KryTech Lubricant which has a unique formula that dries to a hard, waxy finish that seals out water and doesn’t attract dust, dirt and grit like lubes that leave an oily film. It’s ideal for reducing friction and gear noise in electric cars and is also great for suspensions, bushings/bearings, steering systems, anywhere there’s metal-to-metal, metal-to-plastic or plastic-to-plastic.

Futaba 4GWD Surface stick radio

Futaba have announced the successor to the company’s 4VWD, the 4GWD, which features an LCD screen, just one of the great upgrades this radio has over the 4VWD. Four proportional channels of surface control means that this radio is ideal for applications such as tanks, big rigs and robots and the 4GWD allows for easy and accurate access, scrolling and programming of the system’s many functions. Supplied with a R124H Receiver & two S3004 servos, it is available in January.

Edit Fleece Pit Towel Silver

Edit have added a new stylish silver version of their original fleece towel to their range of merchandising. Jerome Sartel confirmed at Xray

Although not in any doubt following the announcement at the start of the month, Xray have confirmed that top French racer Jerome Sartel has signed to race the XB8EC & XT8 for 2008. Jerome had the following to say:

First of all, I would really like to thank to my previous sponsors for their fantastic support during all the previous years; we shared great moments and they gave me the opportunity to attain such results. Nowadays, everything is going faster and worldwide in RC cars, and as such I am grateful for the opportunity that Xray is giving me to integrate into their team. Mike Swauger joins JP Racing

Top US Mugen racer, and multiple Winternats winner, Mike Swauger has been in touch to let us know that he has signed to JP Racing for the 2008 season. Previously running with the Ninja engine, Mike failed to shine at this years World Championships and his results there may have had a big influence on his choice of power plant for next year. On leaving the GRP made motor, Mike has also left behind GRP tyres and so negotiations are still ongoing to secure a tire sponsor for the new year. Since signing to the French manufacturer at the beginning of December Swauger has gone on to win the recently held Toys for Tots race at Crystal Park, an event which he also TQ’d and set a new track record.

TGR Hurda Challenge – Announcement

TGR Hurda Challenge - Announcement

We received word from TGR about the upcoming TGR Hurda Challenge, a new race series which focuses on promoting open class racing which will take place next year in several countries with a great final in Istanbul, Turkey. The series is open to all makes of 1/28th scale cars and has 4 countries already commited to supporting the series with a number of other countries likely to get on board. There are a number of rules for the cars to conform to and prizes at all races leading up the series final. For more information on the series go here.
