Xray have a report on their site from the 2007 Russian Off-road Nationals held recently in Moscow. In qualifying it was Xray driver Artem Lopukhin that took the TQ spot ahead of Mikhail Diachenko in 2nd and Robert Karlinjsh in 3rd. The 45 minute final saw Lopukhin carry forward his great form from qualifying to take the win in front of team mate Iliay Korobkov in 2nd with Robert Karlinjsh ending the race in 3rd.

We received a release from the RC Pro Series regarding their Nitro Offroad Finals which will be held once again on the same week as the last 4 years, November 6th-10th. It will be in Alvarado, Texas on Hwy 67 just 3 miles east of Hwy 35W – 25 miles south of Ft. Worth and 45 miles SW of DFW airport. Yes it will be an indoor rodeo arena! It seats 2500 spectators and has plenty of room for pits. There are RV hookups with electrical and water but no sewer. These are extra charge but there is a paved parking area for those who want to use generators intstead. Both areas are just outside the main entrance for the pits. There will be concessions at the arena and on days we are open to the general public there will be a cantina.

Japanese RC product distributor and manufacturer Powers International have released a new range of branded t-shirts. Available in 3 colours, black, blue and grey, each shirt has been made from 100% cotton and sport the Powers logo on the front left chest with a large logo on the rear.

We wrote about the truggy version of the DuraTrax Raze 2 months ago and now the 1/8th scale buggy, a good value gas powered RTR which the truggy is based on, has received an upgrade. This new version of the Raze now features a heavy-duty ball-bearing steering servo with metal gears to allow it to stand up to high-torque racing action. We wrote about his motor back in May when it was first released in Japan and now that it has come state side we have more information. The O.S. Speed .12TZ Spec II engine has a magnesium head that’s 35% lighter than standard head material which helps lower the engine’s centre of graivty, essential for touring cars. The front bearing is sealed and the rear bearing is ceramic which resists heat and lasts longer than a steel balled version. The crankshaft has also been coated to fight friction and increase durability and is lightened and epoxy-filled for more efficient fuel direction.

O.S. Engines have released this high end truggy motor called the .28XZ which produces great low-end torque with incredibly smooth power delivery. The .28XZ comes with all the components serious racers need for fine-tuning to meet any conditions like, 2 carb inserts – a 9 mm blue for higher rpm applications and larger tracks, and an 8 mm red for smaller tracks that restrict air intake. An extra copper head shim is also included for more head raising/lowering options. The piston sleeve boasts 6 ports for significantly increased power.
