HB Cyclone D4 Wheel Hub, Springs & One-way

HB Cyclone D4 Wheel Hub

Hot Bodies Europe have today released information about 3 new products for their Cyclone D4 4wd electric buggy, all of which we have shown you back in April, but only now do we have the full product information. First up are these steel wheel hubs to enable you to mount Losi 4wd front wheels to the Cyclone D4, so you can re-use tyre and wheel sets you may already have to make the transition to the D4 easier. Next up are new shock spring sets for the D4 that are matched and have had the ends of each spring ground flat for consistent performance left and right. Also released today is the center one-way shaft which drives the front diff when on-power, but allows the diff to rotate independently of the drivetrain when the car is off-power.

Steven Cuypers wins Rd3 of Belgian 1/8th Nationals

Steven Cuypers wins Rd3 of Belgian 1/8th Nationals

Serpent are reporting that their factory driver, and reigning Belgian 1:8 National Champion, Steven Cuypers took his first win of the 2007 Championship over the weekend when he placed 1st in the 3rd round held at the Rumst track. Having TQ’d for the opening two rounds of the championship only to suffer bad luck in the finals, Cuypers was pipped to the top place on the time sheets in qualifying by fellow Serpent racer and round 1 winner Robin D’Hondt. In the final the pairing ran just metres apart in the same order as they started until 20 minutes into the race when D’Hondt was to suffer the bad luck with a rear belt failure. This allowed Cuypers to take the lead and cruise home for his first win of the championship.

B-A Arnaldi wins Rd4 French 1/10th 200mm Nationals

B-A Arnaldi wins Rd4 French 1/10th 200mm Nationals

The 4th round of the French 1/10th 200mm Nationals was held on the weekend on the very nice Longvic racing facility run by the Mini Racing Car Longvicien club. Qualifying for the Elite class saw the pole position taken by Mugen racer Renaud Monin with, round 3 winner, B-A Arnaldi close behind in 2nd and Xray racer Basile Concialdi in 3rd. After the start of the final it is apparent that Serpent racer Chaussard is the only person running 6 minute pit stops and because of this he is able to keep with the lead battle of Arnaldi and Concialdi. Following the last stop Chaussard takes the lead but shortly after makes a small mistake which loses him the lead but still remains in the battle. Coming up to the end of the race and there is still everything to play for and so the top 3 continue to battle to the end, eventually all 3 cross the line together, 7 tenths of a seconds seperating the 3 after 30 minutes. Arnaldi took the win from Concialdi in 2nd and Chaussard in 3rd.

The National class was won by pole man, Kyosho racer, Joeffrey Defie by a lap from Frédéric Blanchard racing a Mugen, while 3rd place went to another Mugen, that of Aurélien Gouriau.

Pesenti takes Rd3 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Pesenti takes Rd3 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the Swiss 1/8th scale Championship take place on the Sitterdorf track and our man Mattia Pesenti was once again in top form with his Novarossi powered Motonica and he has provided us with this report.

On Saturday morning the sun was shining, and it was about 25 degrees. This track is quite fast and so it is very difficult to do the 5 minutes. In the controlled practice I crashed my car at the end of the straight but for the first round of qualifying it was ready to win. Just before the first round we saw some black clouds coming…so we had to finish this round without mistake.

Rick V wins Rd3 Dutch Nationals

Rick V wins Rd3 Dutch Nationals

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the Dutch 1/8th scale National championships run on the bumpy Real 80 circuit in Groningen, in the north of the country. Qualifying saw top International Mugen racer, Rick V take the pole position spot from, round 1 and 2 winner, John Ermen in 2nd, Rob Kuijper in 3rd and Danny Leewis, the final direct qualifier, in 4th. Issues for John Ermen before, and just after the start, ended his challenge, while Rick could just pull away at the front, making a tire stop half way in to the race on his way to the win ahead of Serpent racer Danny Leewis in 2nd and Motonica race Daniel v/d Drift in 3rd. The Nomac class saw a close, race long, battle between young drivers Miguel Hereijgers and René van Dijk, with Miguel taking the top spot in the closing stages of the race thanks to a different tire strategy, Arco Wijnen came home 3rd.
