Ongaro Top Qualifier at 1:8 eBuggy European C/ships

Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro is the Top Qualifier at the EFRA 1:8 Electric Buggy European Championship in France.  Racing at the famous Circuit du MBM, home to the Montpellier GP, the Italian topped three of the qualifiers to take the TQ honours ahead of the Tekno of Portugal’s João Figueiredo who was fastest in Q3.   French teenager & Xray driver Noha Ben Mohamed would complete the Top 3 for qualifying ahead of reigning European Nitro Champion & 2022 Electric Champion Juan Carlos Canas, the Sworkz drivers best run a P3 in Q3.  With reigning eBuggy Champion Michal Orlowski racing at the ETS in the Netherlands this weekend, where he has secured a dominant TQ, a new Champion is set to be crowned in France tomorrow, with Ongaro looking strongly poised to retake the time won in 2019.

Orlowski cruises to TQ at ETS season opener

Defending ETS Champion Michal Orlowski has claimed the TQ at the opening round of the 2024/25 season which is taking place at the Dutch Apeldoorn circuit.  Having secured his first ETS title with an indoor victory at the season finale in Austria back in March, the Schumacher driver looks to have picked up where he left off taking his Mi9 to the fastest time in all four rounds of qualifying.  One of the great outdoor touring car tracks which is a favourite among many top drivers, Apeldoorn was the location of Orlowski’s first ETS win on asphalt last year.  Providing the biggest challenge to the Pole in qualifying was Marc Rheinard will start P2 for Awesomatix thanks to a pair of P2 runs.  Team-mate Lucas Urbain, who joined the ranks of ETS Modified race winner last season, will start 3rd ahead of the Mugen Seiki of multiple Champion Ronald Volker and the Axon of Japanese ace Akio Sobue.  In Pro Stock, Awesomatix’s Lukas Ellebrock also continued his winning finish to last season by securing the TQ ahead of Tim Benson, TQ run in Q3, and reigning Champion Oliver Bultynck who was fastest in Q3.

Grafil Bodies GTR8 EVO 1:8 GT body

Italian body shell manufacturer Grafil Bodies have released the first official images of the EVO version of their Audi based GTR8 EVO 1:8 GT body.  Following imminent track testing, the EVO body shell will undergo EFRA checks for confirmation and inclusion on the homologation list for 1:8 GT use.  The aerodynamics have been improved in various places with particular attention to lateral air flow in fast corners.

Something new for Team Associated B74.1/.2 1:10 4WD Electric Buggy are these Vented Heatsinking Slipper Plates from Team Brood.  Specifically designed for the Decoupled Slipper Clutch and Standard 2 Plate Slipper Clutch, these advanced slipper plates bring enhanced performance, superior cooling, and consistent feel to your racing experience.  The standard system includes front and rear plates, while the decoupled system features front and rear plates for the rear slipper system and a small rear plate for the front oneway slipper system.  The front plate tube from the stock system remains in use for seamless integration.  All Team Brood Racing slipper plates incorporate our IFMAR World Champion vented heatsinking design, ensuring optimal temperature control and preventing overheating.  This design also effectively routes slipper pad dust out from between the plates and pads, reducing the risk of glazing and maintaining consistent performance.  The slipper is available in three material options.

Schumacher Mi9 Motor Mount Weights

Schumacher has released two new optional motor mount weights for its recently launched Mi9 1:10 Electric Touring Car.  The Mi9 has been refined in many key areas, optimising it’s centre of gravity, unsprung mass and reducing it’s polar moment of inertia with tactical weight reductions.  With this in mind, these new motor mount weights allow for the perfect placement of additional weight in order to meet weight regulations in the best possible way.  Offering two versions, the 22g Motor Mount Weight was created with Stock racing in mind with maximum pinion size clearance (all pinions fit as per Mi9 gear chart).  The 26g Motor Mount Weight allows power roller to be fitted (max pinion size 50T 64dp, 37T 48dp).

Amped Up RC 2s Dual | Synchronous Balance Leads

Two new products from charge cable producer Amped Up RC, the cable brand of Donathen RC, are their fully protected 2s Dual Balance Charge Lead and their fully protected Synchronous Balance Charge Lead.  Both leads are designed by DRC and use DRC solid design bullet connectors, and genuine Amass connectors.  24″ long and made with 10 awg wire, they feature dual wall adhesive heat shrink, that is molded to connectors which reduces strain, and makes it easier to remove from batteries/chargers.  Finished with all black sheathing and heat shrink they come wiith 5mm battery side connectors.  The 2s dual charge lead is capable of charging 2 2s batteries off of 1 port on your charger. The Synchrone charge lead is designed to combine both outputs of your charger into 1 lead, allowing you to charge/discharge at higher amps than with 1 single port.

RC Atomic MRX SF (Simple Front) System

1:28 specialist manufacturer RC Atomic has released this new SF (Simple Front) System for their MRX 1:28 pan car.   Having launched its new MRX pan car series in January, the car making use of “Link-less Rear Pod” design meaning the traditional side links are removed from the car, the SF System is a simpler set up that the kit front end.  Easy to build, it is easy to get symmetric making it easy to tune and set up.
The entire front bulkhead is made from aluminium and anodised Atomic gold.  Camber adjustment is made with provided 0.2mm shims. 6 shims = 0 degree, 4 shims = 1 degree, 2 shims = 2 degree, no shim = 3 degree.  The overall front width with 0 offset rim is 73 mm.
