Andersen wins Norwegian Nats Rd3

Andersen wins Norwegian National Cup Rd3

Xray have a report from the recently held 3rd round of the Norwegian National Cup that was run on a track some 900m above sea level, in the beautiful mountain side in Valdres. Qualifying saw the Xray NT1 trio of Helge Johannessen, Georg Ellingsen and Frank Andersen claim the first 3 spots for the final, with Johannessen setting a new track record on his way to pole position. In the final the top 3 pulled away in their starting order with Johannessen leading until the 15 minute mark when he hit a stopped car, taking him out of the race. This left the fighting pair of Ellingsen and Andersen to battle it out for the lead with Andersen eventually taking the win followed by Ellingsen in 2nd with Anders Theodorsen in 3rd

Kyosho X312T released mid July

Kyosho X312T released mid July

The first fruits of the Team Orion and Kyosho tie-up are soon to be made available when the Kyosho X312T .12 motor goes on sale in Europe on the 10th of July. This engine isn’t simply a rebadged version of the Team Orion CRF Wasp but instead features a revised piston which has been coated with Nikasil, a nickel silicon carbide coating used to reduce friction in moving aluminum alloys, while the carburettor features a different barrel and modified main needle which all adds up to an engine that is easy to tune, very stable and has lots of torque. Also released at the same time is the Kyosho V-One RRR Evo and X312T combo pack which will make a great package for those racers considering racing in the Kyosho World Cup, as we have heard a rumour that the use of the X312T is to be made mandatory for this event.

HB Gumball tyres & D4 diff upgrade

Hot Bodies Gumball tyres

Hot Bodies have announced that they will be soon shipping these new pre glued tyres, called Gumballs, which have been designed to be used as control tyres for 30T, 27T and 23T motor classes. Made using a compound that is very durable, yet provides sufficient grip, the Gumballs come pre mounted, with insert, on these durable white disc wheels. Also new from Hot Bodies is the release of a diff upgrade set for the Cyclone D4, with the main change being the use of a 2.6mm screw in place of the 2.0mm version that was originally available. This extra thickness on the diameter of the screw increases the durability of the differential.
