ATS Tires & Accessories

Italian tire manufacturer ATS have announced the release of a number of new products for both off road and general use. First up are these very unique foam truggy tires, created in 56mm width and in 130mm tire diameter, they will be available in both hard and medium compounds and should allow your truggy to tear up the tarmac. Next up is the announcement that ATS will enter the buggy tire market and they are currently testing rims and compounds and will launch with 3 compounds called Sticky, Adherence and 1600, expect to see them available soon. ATS have also released a range of clutch bell housings for off road and rally game that come in both closed and open finish and in a number of different teeth amounts. Finally comes the release of cleaning putty, similar to that sold by Serpent, that comes in a handy little tub and helps remove oil and other crap from your car.

Riemon Speed Works metal optionals

Riemon Speed Works metal optionals

We brought you information about shock bodies from Japanese firm, Riemon Speed Works before, and today they have announced more metal optionals, including more shock bodies. In the picture above you can see on the left, new metal shock bodies for the Kyosho Lazer ZX-5, the left shock body being a prototype made from brass and the aluminum version on the right the final sale version. In the middle of the image are the prototype and final shock bodies for the Tamiya M-chassis while the final product on the right are hex adaptors for 1/10th touring cars, which have been made from brass to apparentley help transfer the power from the tires to the ground in low grip conditions. Available this month.

Robitronic have released a new front ball differential for their Avid electric touring car as well as making the announcement that they will give current owners of the car a replacement set of hardened driveshafts, which i suppose replaces the original versions that were perhaps breaking or twisting. These hardened shafts will be included in all upcoming releases of the kit and to receive your free replacement, simply ask your Robitronic dealer.

Much More have announced the details of their newly released Mini-Z car stands as well as their new motor armature holders. The Mini-Z stands have been made from a thick clear plastic and come in 3 base colours, black, blue and purple, and are very flat, perfect for setting up your car. Also new from Much More are these new extras for the armature holders we showed you in March. Available seperately or with a 5 pack of tubes, these new rubber mounts fit into the tubes holding the armature more securly in place, thus protecting it from damage when in your tool box.

Cavalieri dominates ROAR Off Road Nats

Last weekend saw Americas best Off-road drivers come together for the 2007 ROAR Nationals run at ARCOR Raceway in Albuquerque NM. At the end of qualifying it was Associated team driver Ryan Cavalieri that took the TQ in 2wd Mod while in Modified Truck it was Mike Truhe that took the top spot and in 4wd Mod it was Jared Tebo who claimed the pole position spot. In the 2wd final it was Cavalieri who went on to win both the first two A-Mains, taking the overall, leaving Mike Truhe to come home in 2nd and Billy Fischer in 3rd. In Truck Modified it was again Cavalieri that took the win in dominating fashion beating out Mike Truhe to 2nd and Jared Tebo in 3rd. In the 4wd Mod class it was a closer battle with the final result coming down to the third A main with Cavalieri needing a win to beat Jared Tebo but once again Team Orion racer Cavalieri came through to take the race win and with it the class win to complete the modified hatrick, Jared Tebo ran home 2nd overall with Mike Truhe in 3rd.

JConcepts Illuzion Losi 8ight T body

JConcepts have released their latest Illuzion body, this time for the Losi 8ight T truggy which features a stadium truck style that combines hard edge racing lines with a front hood scoop. The roof of the body has been dramatically wedged or for that aggressive look, while the rear of the body has been designed for extra bed durability. The body has been made from heavy-duty thickness polycarbonate and comes complete with window masks and protective film.

Chris Grainger wins Rd3 of BRCA Mod Nats

Rd3 of BRCA Mod Nats

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the BRCA Electric Nationals take place at both Halifax and Southend for Modified/27T and 19T respectively. In Halifax the wet weather meant that the first 2 rounds of qualifying took place on a damp track but the track dried up for the 3rd round and it was National round 2 winner Chris Grainger, racing for Yokomo, that placed his car on the pole position spot with Associated racer Craig Drescher in 2nd. In the final it was Grainger all the way, taking the 2 final wins to take the overall round win ahead of Craig Drescher in 2nd while Hot Bodies driver Olly Jeffries finished in 3rd. In the 27T class it was Schumacher racer Lee Price that took the top honours with Adrian Bidewell in 2nd and Andrew Twigger in 3rd.

Over in Southend at the 19T class Nationals it was Mark Fuller that took the win ahead of round 1 and 2 winner Chris Kerswell, who took the pole position, but ended the event in 2nd, while Richard Thorpe claimed 3rd.
