Gomez Salmeron wins Rd1 of Spanish Nats

Last weekend saw the 2007 Spanish National Championship ,for 1/8th scale off road, get underway with over 100 racers taking to the track in Lebrija. Richi Gomez claimed the top starting position followed by Borja Hernandez and Antonio Gomez Salmeron in 2nd and 3rd respectively but in the main race it was a quick exit for Axe Rossi racer Richi Gomez, who was out after only 4 laps, which left the front group battle it out for the top spot. Gomez Salmeron who had dropped back to 7th at the start managed to keep a consistently quick pace throughout the race and eventually took the lead from Mugen racer Daniel Vega on the 44th lap of the race and never looked back to take the win for HoBao. Vega managed to bring it home in 2nd position, only 12 seconds back, while Kyosho racer Adrien Perez Mayoral finished 3rd, just over 10 seconds back on Vega.

Yaniv Sivan has once again shown that he is the man to beat in the Israeli League as round 4 of the series took place at the Hot Wheels racing club this weekend. The main event was a tough race for round 3 winner Yaniv, with the Kyosho driver having a race long battle with Golan Levy and Idan Kizel which ended when Yaniv was eventually able to take the lead and shortly after Idan had to retire due to an engine problem. XRAY Column – Developing and Designing the NT1 Part II

XRAY Column

Following on from last months column by Juraj Hudy, comes the second part of this great insight into the development of Xrays new gas touring car, the NT1. In this part Juraj talks us through the pre production and testing phase of the car as well as highlighting the problems and the solutions to some problems that arose in testing.

With the new geometry on the suspension arms, the geometry of the steering blocks and rear uprights had to be modified too, which again required modifications to the moulds. With the changed geometry the roll center positions on the rear roll center bridge also had to be modified so after testing several different roll center positions we came up with the optimal positions.
