Chris Grainger joins GM Racing

Chris Grainger joins GM Racing

A little piece, or perhaps a big piece, of news that we overlooked last week was the announcement that UK driver Chris Grainger has joined GM Racing. For brushless racing, the multiple British Champion will now power his Yokomo chassis with GM brushless controllers and motors, while for non brushless running he will continue with Team Checkpoint motors. Only last weekend Chris won the modified class at the opening round of the Schumacher BTCC championships, held at the Stafford track in the UK, which attracted a full entry of 120 racers.

UPDATED to reflect correct sponsor arrangement.

Kyosho Gas powered 1/12th pan car

Kyosho Gas powered 1/12th pan car

The picture above was spotted in this months issue of the Japanese magazine, RC Magazine. It shows a new, concept stage, project by Kyosho to make a 1/12th gas powered 4wd pan car, sporting what looks like the same Sirio .09 engine that comes with the Mini Inferno range of buggies. As my Japanese is pretty bad, all i can comment on is the picture and i have to say that it looks like a rather awkward and cramped layout with 2 belt configuration, side mounted disk brake and 2 speed gearbox. The rear top mounted exhaust just looks like an afterthought and as much as the center of the car looks too busy, the front has nothing going on. What do you guys think?
