Racer in the Spotlight – Sahashi brothers

Continuing their Racer in the Spotlight series, Serpent have interviewed factory drivers and the first brothers of Japanese racing, the Sahashi’s. These guys are seriously quick and according to their interview the youngest of the 2, Tadahiko, has been driven by the urge to beat his older brother Yuya anytime they go to the track and it has worked as Tadahiko has won the Japanese National championships for 1/10th 200mm and also TQ’d last years 1/8th scale Nationals. As always the interviews makes for some interesting reading so check it out.

The set contains 9 of the most popular tools, which sport that distinctive and rather attractive spiral handle. The case is also available seperately and were pretty sure that it would suit other manufacturers tools too.

Medial Pro are running a rather unique and, lucrative for the winner, competition in which they invite entrants to design the next new tyre in their tyre range. CML Distribution in the UK have introduced this Universal Starter Box by Fastrax, called the AllStart. Its your typical starter box and is compatible with in-line or side-mounted, 1/10th and 1/8th, on or off-road cars. The starter box itself can be easily adjusted to accomodate your choice of car and the whole starting system is powered by dual 550 motors, whilst the box itself can accept two 6 cell stick packs or one 12v gel cell.

UK Micro Challenge – Race report

UK Micro GP

oOple.com has a report on his site from last weekends UK Micro Challenge race held at the Torc High School, home of Tamworth Radio Controlled Car Club. Raced using 1/18th and 1/16th scale off road cars, the event attracted a lot of entrants inlcuding some European and Natioanl Champions. The main event was the Pro Stock and this was won by Stephen Davis driving the popular FTX with Chris Hudson in 2nd and Chris Doughty, recovering from a lack of practice, finishing 3rd driving his Associated RC18.

Fabrizio Teghesi wins Rd1 of Italian Nats

Fabrizio Teghesi wins Rd1 of Italian Nats

Even more buggy news, this time its from the 1st round of the Italian National Championships that took place last weekend at the Monsummano track. In qualifying it was reigning Italian champion Davide Tortorici that claimed the top spot for the final but the Crono / Falcon racer could only manage 3rd place in the muddy and wet conditions. The race was won by another Crono racer Fabrizio Teghesi, who we recently reported joined Ultimate Racing, with Daniele Ribaldi only 2 seconds behind in 2nd place with Tortorici ending the race in 3rd, 2 laps down on the leading pair.

Guillaume Vray wins Rd1 of French Nats

Guillaume Vray wins Rd1 of French Nats

Mugen RB racer, Guillaume Vray has won the first round of the French National Championships for 1/8th scale buggy held last weekend at Noeux les Mines. Vray had qualified 4th but won his semi final to line up first for the Open final where he was able stay in front to take a close win, ahead of fellow Mugen racer, and Ligue 9 Rd1 winner, Renaud Savoya who ended up 3 seconds back after 45 minutes to finish 2nd. Julien Lattanzio completed the podium in 3rd, finishing on the same lap as the leaders only 10 seconds back on Savoya.

Truhe & King take all at Silver State NC

Silver State NC

Mike Truhe has cleaned up in Buggy and 1/10th stadium truck to take the double for Team Losi. In the buggy class Mike lead home a 1-2 for the 8ight with team mate Adam Drake coming home in 2nd with Ryan Cavalieri bringing the Team Associated RC8 home in 3rd giving the car its 2nd major podium since its introduction. In the truggy class it was Kyosho racer Cody King that took home the top honours finishing ahead of 2nd placed Taylor James driving a Jammin truggy with Adam Drake finishing in third with his Losi truggy. The 1/10th stadium truck class honours went to Losi driver Mike Truhe once more, finishing in front of current ROAR class champion Jared Tebo with Ryan Maifield bring it home in 3rd, both drivers racing the Associated GT2 truck.
