OFNA Ultra LX One RTR 1/8th buggy

OFNA Ultra LX One RTR

OFNA Racing have announced the release of their Ultra LX One RTR 1/8th scale buggy. Based on the successful Ultra series of buggies, they have improved upon that basis by making it closer to a Pro level buggy, changing to C-Hub suspension and adding 13mm shocks & Hi-down Force wing, plus they also upgraded the body styling and added true-lite dish wheels with racing tires. European Championship attracts Champion entry

European B Championships

We received a mail from the guys over at Bonisio informing us that the entries for this years Euro ‘B’ Championships, in Tolmin Slovenia, are filling up fast and attracting some quality drivers to boot. British Junior Champion Ian Campbell and Slovenian National Champion Jernej Vuga are the latest Champions to confirm their entry for the EFRA European Championship 1:8 IC Track B 2007 that takes place on the 25th – 27th of May. The latter driver has the benefit of local track knowledge, which combined with international experience and having been a Vice Champion at the 2003 Euro B’s in Switzerland, will make Vuga one of the favourites for the event. Vuga has also confirmed his move from Serpent to new sponsor, Mugen, for the 2007 season.

RB Products release new S3 motor

RB Products, the French competition engine manufacturer, have announced their latest 3.5cc buggy motor, the S3. This budget engine is a 3 port motor that is perfectly suited for both club racers and beginners looking for an engine that offers great fuel economy while keeping ones budget in mind.

The latest S3 comes equipped with an 8mm composite carburator to keep operating temps and engine consistency constant. The new cylinder head stands a whopping 11 fins tall and retains the “RB” Orange colors, your competition will know whats under the hood with its laser engravings reading MSC and S3 on top. The combustion chamber is an integrated part of the cylinder head to ensure optimum performance.

Hot Bodies have released this front solid axle set for use with their Cyclone 190mm toruing car. This axle comes as standard with the Cyclone World Champion Edition and now it is available to be used in all other versions of the car. The Version 3 of this axle set uses steel outdrives which increases durability and therefore increases the time between rebuilds.

CochesRc.com Race 2007 – Announcement

CochesRc.com Race 2007

Our good friends over at Spanish site Coches RC have asked us to put up a post about their upcoming race to be held in Bilbao, Spain. Being run for the 5th time, this years event will take place on the 16th to 18th of March at the Mega Park circuit in the city and will run with 1/10th 200mm as well as 1/8th Rally Game and 1/18th Micro classes. The event is open to everyone and international visitors are welcome to race and take part in the fun in the sun.

LRP Vector X11 Brushless motor

Following on from the release of the Sphere Competition TC Spec digital speed controller comes the companies second generation of brushless competition motors to compliment that system, the Vector X11. The new motor features sintered rotors thay provide extremely high performance at low speeds compared with bonded rotors and the X11 utilises a sensored system that ensures the motor has the same linearity and smooth feeling as brushed systems.

XRAY Column – Developing and Designing the NT1

XRAY Column

Xray have published the 6th in the series of columns from designer and company owner Juraj Hudy in which he gives us an insight into what its like to be in the hot seat at one of the larger RC manufacturers. In this column he talks about the design and production process of the new NT1 and all the different decisions he had to make in order to get the car to his liking and as always it makes for an interesting read.

Most of the details we focused on during development are not radical or innovative at first glance; the beauty of the car comes through in all the small details that may not be immediately apparent at first sight, but are immediately noticed after the first experience of working with the car.

LRP have released their latest speed controller, the Sphere Competition TC Spec digital, which has been designed to cope with the extreme stresses of modern day electric touring car racing. Designed for use with brushed and brushless motors, this is the same speedo that Ronald Völker used to win the DHI Cup back in January and as well as sporting a low profile heat sink with integrated cooling fan, the controller can be used equally well with 4 to 6 cells and sports launch control as well as improved braking capabilities over previous versions.
