HB Front Solid Axle Set V.3

Hot Bodies have released this front solid axle set for use with their Cyclone 190mm toruing car. This axle comes as standard with the Cyclone World Champion Edition and now it is available to be used in all other versions of the car. The Version 3 of this axle set uses steel outdrives which increases durability and therefore increases the time between rebuilds.

Using the valuable ‘spool’ effect, you will get maximum front traction on all types of tracks. From tight, twisty tracks with high traction to wide, low traction surfaces, you get the advantage of outbraking the competition and turning tight into the corner!

CochesRc.com Race 2007 – Announcement

Our good friends over at Spanish site Coches RC have asked us to put up a post about their upcoming race to be held in Bilbao, Spain. Being run for the 5th time, this years event will take place on the 16th to 18th of March at the Mega Park circuit in the city and will run with 1/10th 200mm as well as 1/8th Rally Game and 1/18th Micro classes. The event is open to everyone and international visitors are welcome to race and take part in the fun in the sun.

LRP Vector X11 Brushless motor

LRP Vector X11

Following on from the release of the Sphere Competition TC Spec digital speed controller comes the companies second generation of brushless competition motors to compliment that system, the Vector X11. The new motor features sintered rotors thay provide extremely high performance at low speeds compared with bonded rotors and the X11 utilises a sensored system that ensures the motor has the same linearity and smooth feeling as brushed systems.

XRAY Column – Developing and Designing the NT1

XRAY Column

Xray have published the 6th in the series of columns from designer and company owner Juraj Hudy in which he gives us an insight into what its like to be in the hot seat at one of the larger RC manufacturers. In this column he talks about the design and production process of the new NT1 and all the different decisions he had to make in order to get the car to his liking and as always it makes for an interesting read.

Most of the details we focused on during development are not radical or innovative at first glance; the beauty of the car comes through in all the small details that may not be immediately apparent at first sight, but are immediately noticed after the first experience of working with the car.

LRP Sphere Competition TC Spec digital

LRP have released their latest speed controller, the Sphere Competition TC Spec digital, which has been designed to cope with the extreme stresses of modern day electric touring car racing. Designed for use with brushed and brushless motors, this is the same speedo that Ronald VÃ¶lker used to win the DHI Cup back in January and as well as sporting a low profile heat sink with integrated cooling fan, the controller can be used equally well with 4 to 6 cells and sports launch control as well as improved braking capabilities over previous versions.

Upgrade RC Casuals

Featuring the Upgrade RC branding, there will be a number of t-shirts with different colourings as well as lite wind breaker jacket. I suppose after they have branded everything on your workbench they need to move onto your person as well.

Antoine Rossetti joins X-Factory

X-Factory have announced that top French off road racer Antoine Rossetti has joined their team for the 2007 season. Due to drive the X-5 in this years Nationals, Antoine who finished in the top 10 at last years French Nationals, leaves Team Losi for whom he raced last year, and he seems pretty excited about the upcoming season.

The Xâ€“5 appeals to me because itâ€™s different compared to the other cars because of its design. Thus itâ€™s unconventional, and I like to drive different, to be apart! They were really thinking when they came up with this car. Because I know the Losi car so well, it will be easy to Faite Le Calcul. Iâ€™ll be running the Xâ€“6 at this yearâ€™s Nationals, but my focus will be on the Xâ€“5 and 4WD.

Motonica P8.0 Classic 2wd

Motonica P8.0 Classic

Just before the NÃ¼rnberg toy fair we showed you the new product range from Motonica which amongst other things included the all new P8.0 Classic, a 2wd flat pan chassis. This was a strange choice of car to start producing, considering the numbers involved in this class which really only exists in the south of Europe, but despite this fact Motonica have created a rather attractive and i’m sure competitive car. Sporting a full carbon fibre chassis plate the car is rear wheel drive and receives the power to its back wheels through a belt from the single speed gearbox shaft. The center part of the car is taken from the P8.0 4wd chassis which includes the fuel tank as well as the cars innovative radio mounting system that sports 2 laydown servos, whilst the front of the car is mounted on top of a floating front plate, as is the norm in this class. The car looks good and there is a lot of interest in it from the Classique class faithful, so who knows perhaps we may see a new resurgence of this class in the near future.
