Andy Moore heads qualifying in Sweden

Andy Moore

Andy Moore has continued on his top form from yesterdays practice into todays qualifying by taking the overnight pole after 5 rounds of qualifying at this years EFRA 1/12th scale European Championships. With 1 round still left to run on Sunday, my pre event favourite Marc Fisher of Germany has moved himself into 2nd place, albeit 4 seconds behind Moore after 8 minutes, with another German racer Markus Mobers 3 seconds back on Fisher, in 3rd. Finnish brothers Sakke and Simo Ahoniemi are 4th and 5th with Britsh 1/12th legend Andy Griffiths in 3rd. Tomorrow will see the 6th round of qualifying that will take place in the morning followed by the running of all the triple main finals and the crowning of the new 2007 European Champion.

Andy Moore heads up Euro 1/12th practice

Euro 1/12th practice

Current 1/10th Touring car World Champion Andy Moore (not pictured above) is setting the pace after Fridays practice at the 1/12th European Championships held in Sweden. The British driver was 4 seconds clear of second place Simo Ahoniemi from Finland with German driver Markus Mobers in 3rd, a further 4 seconds back. Its, of course, only early stages and the drivers are still trying to find their best setup to go into qualifying, which starts tomorrow, so todays times are just a very rough estimation of who is quick. Finish gas racing specialist Teemu Saarinen was 4th fastest after todays practice sessions with dominant British champion Andy Griffiths lying in 5th.

Serpent WOS steering block Pro set

Serpent WOS steering block Pro set

Serpent today released these WOS steering blocks set for the Serpent 960 that contains 2 steering blocks, bearing eccenters, ceramic bearings, spacers and nylon pivot ball nuts. Featuring a different offset to the standard kit versions, the blocks can be used in 2 different configurations by swapping the side of the car they are mounted on. These changes, depending on the side the steering blocks are used on, will either give you more turn in on corner entry, or more on power steering at corner exit. The included eccenters ensure that the axle is raised higher than centre line, which enhances the effect caused by this new configuration.
