Associated TC5 prototype showing great potential

Associated TC5 prototype - Juho Levanen & Craig Drescher

CML Distribution have a report on their site updating us on the progress of the Team Associated TC5 prototype. This belt drive touring car has been doing the rounds for a while now and it all seems to be paying off with Juho Levanen and Craig Drescher taking 3rd and 4th respectively in last weekends TC Carpet World Cup.

In the early practice run on Thursday and Friday both Associated cars were quickly dialed in to the fast but technical track at the CRF facility, using Novak brushless power Craig’s car looked punchy with good straight line speed, still in its development stage the new car delighted Craig and caused a great deal on interest in the pit area.

You can read the full report here.

Tyler Vik signs for Kyosho

Tyler Vik

Notch up another big name for the Big K with the news that young US hotshot Tyler Vik has defected from Mugen to Kyosho. I know little about Tyler other than hes been pretty quick for a few years and hes an O’Donnell protegé. I do like his expression in the image above though, you think hes comfortable being the filling in this chick sandwich?

Hot shot US Racer Tyler Vik has in a surprise move, joined Kyosho and left Mugen. Tyler has raced for Mugen and O’Donnell for a number of years. He is one of the hottest prospects to come from So Cal in the last few years, at only 15 years old he has a good while to realize his potential.

Teemu Leino wins the GP TC Carpet World Cup

Teemu Leino

Teemu Leino, in his first race for Xray has won the 2006 GP Batteries sponsored Touring Car Carpet World Cup held at the CRF Power Raceway in Switzerland. Having taken 4 wins, a second position and a non finish the Finnish racer was unstoppable and could take the win, albeit on dropped scores, from current World and European Champion Andy Moore driving for Hot Bodies. Next up in the 3rd and 4th were the Team Associated Prototypes of Juho Levanen and Craig Drescher, showing the potential of this new car before its release.

After the race the top 10 finishers fought the title of the Lord of Touring and this race was won by Andy Moore who drove superbly but wasnt challenged by the event winner Leino whose car was still tweaked after his non finish in the last round of racing.
