More Corally RDX proto sightings

Because my Danish is worse than non existent, i can’t quite tell you what the guys over at RaceRC.dk are writing about. But what i can tell you is that they have some more close up pictures of Jonas KÃ¦rup’s Corally RDX prototype chassis. We showed you pictures of the proto RDX from the Team Orion speed weekend that some enthusiastic snappers managed to get, but these show more detail.

High-Res Team Magic M1 images

UK based online shop, Nitro Models Ltd, have a nice set of high resolution images of the new innovative Team Magic M1 1/8th scale off road buggy. We reported on this car when it was shown in iHobby but these are the first set of studio images that we have seen.

Adam Drake interview – Podcast

At the recent iHobby Expo in Chicago, the boys over at 4wdrc.com made the next instalment in their ongoing podcast series. This time the podcast contains an interesting interview with top US off roader, and Horizon Hobbies employee, Adam Drake. If you have 12 minutes of your life to spare, you can have a listen and get an insight into Adam himself as well as the new products released at the event by Horizon, including the new 1/36th scale Micro-T that we covered previously.

RC Pro Series TV advert (video)

I wanted to report on this earlier but decided i should leave it for a quieter day. Well that day has come. This video is a TV advertisement from the guys at the RC Pro Series over in the US. It will be shown on Regional TV and it promotes the upcoming Nitro Off Road finals that are being held at the Rockford Metro Arena in Illinois on November 6th – 12th (altough the video says 9th to 11th?).

The TV ads start on October 23rd on WIFR 23 on the Morning Show, during the Letterman Show and during According to Jim. WIFR will be doing a Monster Truck giveaway from Losi as well as tickets to the event. Myself and one of the Team Losi guys will be on the Morning Show monday November 6th to talk about the event and show off some cars.

This is one well promoted event as they also have a radio advertising campaign in place, leading up to event.

British 1/12th National – Crewe

Once again its Mirage Racing with race reports from their team drivers regarding the recently run 2nd round of the 1/12th Nationals. 12th scale seems to be growing in popularity again and this indoor event saw a full entry.

Andy and Mick were out front, both setting lap times that predicted quicker runs than the previous FTD until disaster struck for Andy – he suffered a chunked tyre following an accident late on in the race. Mick also had to pull out with electrical problems, making it a double blow!

TORC series report – Bedworth

The Mirage Racing website has race reports posted from the Bedworth round of the TORC series from team racers Dom Carter and Elliot Harper. In finishing 4th on the day, Elliot managed to wrap up the TORC F2 title with his Orion powered HB Cyclone.

Slowly the pace paid off as I picked off the back markers one by one, eventually finishing in a respectable 4th place and feeling my Cyclone had really performed when I needed it and achieved my personal best lap of 15.49secs. Overall I finished 4th on the day

Confusion around host of 2007 1/8th Worlds

One of our readers alerted us to the forum thread on rctech.net that shows that some confusion seems to have surrounded the hosting of the 2007 1/8th scale IFMAR World Championships. Originally allocated to Argentina, a member of the South African event hosting committee posted on the forum back in September telling people that the TRAP facility in South Africa had been granted the event after original hosts Argentina had fallen through.

As both countries fall under FAMAR (South America, Africa) they claimed that they had been given verbal confirmation of the hosting change and even with no written confirmation from IFMAR they went ahead promoting the event and placed notification on their website. This notification was retracted last week and an statement issued after the situation was cleared up by IFMAR and it was reconfirmed that Argentina, as normal, would host the 2007 blue ribboned event.
