Jon Hazlewood

Xray are carrying a report on their site from their team driver Jon Hazlewood that outlines in detail his super busy and successful 2006 off road race season. Its a good read that outlines the ups and downs of a top RC racer.

The world’s was a good event for me. I managed to qualify into the semi’s. I won my side and made it into the main final. | was very happy to achieve this. Unfortunately my motor eat half the track and stopped working, ending my final. I was still very pleased with the result. Making the main at a Worlds is so hard.

Trinity Platinum Series .095 engine

Trinity Platinum .095

Trinity have just released the Platinum .095 engine for their Vulcan and other similar 1/16th off road chassis’. This engine has been specially designed for this scale and Trinity is claiming that it is the fastest in its class.

The “Drake Platinum series .095 engine was designed especially for the new generation micro nitro cars and trucks. Reliability, ease to start and tune were just as important in the design criteria as was flat out speed. Simply scaling a . 12-sized engine down does not produce the type of performance required by the nitro newbie as well as the seasoned veteran.

The engine is available in a standard version and a “Draked” version, which has been tweaked and blueprinted by Adam Drake himself.

Using a small pump and front mounted radiator, pipes feed constantly cooled “non-conductive liquid” around the face of the electric motor keeping the temperature down, increasing performance and reducing damage.

The new Multi Patented TCS has been meticulously developed over the last 12 months to address the “Heat problem” and promises new levels of performance and reliability which can be fitted to your existing car.
