2007 DHI Cup begins today

2007 DHI Cup

So its time for the DHI Cup once again, held every year in Denmark it is the first major European race of year and attracts the major name racers from around the world. This year is no exception with the likes of all dominant US racer Paul LeMieux, Jilles Groskamp, former World Champion Marc Rheinard as well as current World Champion Andy Moore and of course lets not forget GP Carpet World Cup winner Teemu Leino.

The event will be covered by RC Zone with live results here, and some daily reports here. We will provide summaries of the days racing as we get it. Today, Friday, consists of 2 practice sessions for each racer and then it is straight into qualifying tomorrow and what makes this event more exciting is that it will be the first major event contested under the new EFRA ruling of 5 cells with minimum weight of 1350grams.

Team Losi 8ight clothing

Team Losi have announced the release of these promotional clothing items for racers of the Team Losi 8ight. The t-shirt is available immediately and sports the 8ight logo on the front and a very large 8 on the back and comes in the usual sizes. The hat meanwhile is available at the end of the month and features the Team Losi 8 logo embroidered on the front and the Losi logo on the back and comes in 2 flex fit sizes.

Giuseppe de Liguori wins the Trofeo del Granducato

Trofeo del Granducato

Last weekend saw the 12th running of the â€œTrofeo del Granducato” in Italy and saw 79 drivers in attendance. Qualifying saw Xray racer Guido Barbera take the TQ ahead of Costanzo and Marletta, but in the finals Barbera’s luck ran out and could only manage 7th position at the end. The event was won by Giuseppe de Liguori who won 2 of the finals to take the overall win with Costanza taking 2nd position ahead of 3rd placed Marco Gennari.

Piktor Rush 2 bodyshell tease shot

OK, i know i shouldnt fall for this but i have covered all the other news from Piktor regarding their Rush 2 and so i shall continue by showing a tease shot of the bodyshell from this super hyped buggy. The bodyshell appears, from the picture, to be relatively standard with the only major difference being the front, which coincides with the fact the the front of this car is completely different from other buggies and the fact that it will come with a mounted front wing. We will know more when they show the full body.

RCID Custom starter box skins

Back in October we told you about these cool starter box skins from Upgrade RC, through their RCID Custom brand. Well now it seems that they are finally available for purchase and they now have more options to choose from. As with the transponder skins we showed you earlier this week, these skins are customisable with a selection of logos and schemes to choose from as well the choice of starter box that the decal will be applied to.

Hot Bodies Lightning 2 Pro EVO

Although the Neo Invitational event was nearly a month ago, Hot Bodies have a report on their site giving us the lowdown on their experiences at the event. Of course they were present with Marc Rheinard and Andy Moore, both touring car racers, but despite that they managed to both make the semi finals, not a bad result considering. But what was more interesting is that both their team drivers where running prototype parts including new shock towers front and rear, a new main chassis, improved radio plate and several other parts in an effort to test them in time to include them in their upcoming Lightning 2 Pro EVO, that is due out sometime this year.

Team Associated TC5 Update

The Team Associated TC5 prototype electric car has been around for a while now and has been performing quite well, and is still being developed, but it seems that the car is a step closer to being released with the latest images of the car showing the use of some production ready parts. RC Zone has some images taken at last weekends Novak US Touring car championships that show Rick Hohwarts car in detail as well as some more info on the car itself.

The major parts that carry over from previous cars are the shock bodies, VCS2, Springs, Ballcups, Tierods, Diff Hardware, Ballstuds, Body Posts. Another detail is that the new car will feature screws with 2mm metric threads. The bearings will also be all metric spec. The aluminium parts will also be anodised blue like on other Associated Factory Team cars.
