JConcepts 1987 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z body

Visually stunning, physically exhilarating, artfully balanced, the 1987 Chevy Camaro is all these things and more. One of the major reasons the JConcepts team underwent a project of this statue was to produce one of GM’s most sough-after vehicles of the 1980’s. A project originally started in October of 2020 has since seen some revisions along the way to accommodate an ever-changing Drag racing and Bashing segment in the RC market. A tight overall width to settle into today’s latest lineup of manufactured vehicles such as the DR10, 22S, and Drag Slash make the Camaro a fun and fit performer. Flat panel designs signified this generation and peaked during this era of the Camaro. Bucket headlights stand-out on the front-end with dual lights and bezels, the 87 looks so ominous. On top of the hood, two recessed ducts can be louvered out with the included decal sheet. The pointed front-end carries to the fenders, through the doors and back through the rear fender creating that transitional body line from top to bottom. Highly detailed recessed windows provide a large viewing area for the 2-door drag racer.

Rohrmoser wins Austrian 1/10 IC Championships

The 1/10 IC Austrian National Championship concluded last weekend at the MAC Amstetten circuit. This was the fourth event of the season, with each round so far producing a different winner. Simon Ciudan won Rd1 at MAC Mistelbach, Stefan Strasser took Rd2 at SFMAV, and Christoph Rohrmoser came home first in Rd3 at RC Parndorf, meaning the championship was wide open. Rohrmoser secured pole position for the 45-minute final, as the three previous winners took the top three places on the grid. It then turned into a lights-to-flag victory for Rohrmoser, as his MAV-powered Xray ran up front for the whole duration of the race to secure his third consecutive title. When the other points were added up, Stefan Strasser secured second overall, with young Michael Katzmayer third in the standings.

JConcepts Tusk & Hunk Class 1 tires

JConcepts continues to muscle new scale off-road items into the market with the introduction of the Tusk 1.9” tire. After successful class 1 tires such as the Landmines and Bounty Hunters, the team focused on a new design with learned information by driving, crawling, and important input from a heap of development time by the JConcepts team. The team retained the 4.19” sizing making it an approved and scale-based tire, but the tread layout went under the scope for changes. The Tusk has an animal like instinct while it makes its way over terrain with hefty lugs and sidewall support. The centre of the tire starts with a V-shaped lug with multiple steps to the sides for additional grip while the green compound rubber flexes and contours to the landscape. The design team added large, staggered traction bars off the side continuing the V-shape pattern and while the shorter version steps in conjunction with the centre lug, the longer version fills a void underneath and meets up near the centre line of the tire.

RDRP B6.3 +3mm LCG 7075 aluminium chassis

The Revolution Design Racing Products +3mm chassis has been updated for the ultra-popular Team Associated B6.3 2wd buggy. As before, it mirrors the optimised length of the original B6.2 and B6.3 chassis to improve handling in high-bite track conditions such as carpet and Astroturf, making the car easier and faster to drive at the same time. Of course, the new chassis is prepared to accommodate new-generation servo mounts such as the B6.3 kit item or the RDRP LCG servo mount set.
