Yokomo BD10F competition FWD touring car

Yokomo have introduced their new BD10F competition FWD touring car, which utilises the components from their BD10 touring car and realises the optimum weight distribution for FWD drive. The bulkhead and suspension arm are the same as the BD10LC, but it is a pure competition FWD touring car that has been converted to FWD by changing the main chassis and motor mount. The dedicated weights on the front and the position of the motor near the front ensure the traction required when accelerating. They have managed to eliminate the excessive steering response due to the weight increase, by changing the Ackerman ratio with the long bell crank. At the rear, in addition to the Axon shock that has a reputation for smooth operation, a mass damper that is simple but has a high effect of canceling vibration is adopted, and the rear grip is increased to prevent stall when cornering. Of course, there are some optional parts for BD10 that have been released so far that can be shared, and running costs can be reduced, including the sharing of consumable parts.

The Cotswolds track hosted round four of the BRCA Touring Car series, a venue popular with UK drivers with a great layout and a good mix of fast and slow corners. BRCA 1/8 Circuit Halifax Rd5 – Report

The British weather played a big part in the latest round of the 1/8 Circuit series hosted at the newly resurfaced Halifax circuit in the north of the UK recently. A bumper entry was in for the weekend’s racing with both nitro and electric classes competing. The electric class gaining popularity again with many newcomers and returning drivers attracted to the class. Saturday saw heavy rain with most drivers not going onto the track for timed practice. Sunday started similarly with rain fall and standing water on the track, it was to be a day of tricky conditions and a mostly damp track which never really fully dried. Qualifying was to come down to one round where conditions were somewhat better so pressure was on drivers to ensure they got a respectable time in.
