Thurston & Fletcher take Rd1 of BRCA 1/8th nats

The opening round of the BRCA 1/8 Circuit Nationals was held at the ultra-fast Brookland circuit in Kent recently, with warmer weather greeting the racers. It was great to see and welcome many new and returning drivers to the class including Ralph Crampton, Rob Colman and Vinicent Meron among others. Around 40 drivers were competing across the two classes with the usual front runners in nitro class of Tim Wood, Alex Thurston and Mark Green fighting for honours in qualifying, with Alex taking 3 out of 4 rounds and TQ. The Nitro A-final was a spectacular watch for all, with close racing at high speed, Brookland delivered an entertaining 30-minute final, Alex Thurston and Tim Wood exchanged positions early on then Alex was about to take a comfortable lead. Unfortunately, both Tim and Mark Green were to retire early on after a racing incident allowing Alex a heathy lead out front.

Hasi Tuned .21 manifolds

Hasi Tuned have released 4 new manifolds for .21 engines, the first of which is a conical manifold that guarantees easy tuning and low fuel consumption. This is great for middle fast track were there is normally high fuel consumption. The 2nd is a conical 90° version and offers more torque in the low and middle rpm and is a perfect choice for fast tracks. The 3rd version is a conical 90+90 and has extreme torque making it a good choice for super fast track and there is a 4th version which is slightly longer for a little bit simpler tuning and with less consumption than the std version.

Xray Active Differential for XB4/XT4

Similar in design and function to the recently released rear active differential set for the XB2 and XT2, Xray have introduced this product for the front and rear of the XB4 and XT4. The unique Active Differential is a high-performance, adjustable front or rear gear differential for XB4, vastly improving the buggy’s speed and handling characteristics. The special design of the internal components using different angled segments allows the diff gears to engage on-power to increase the forward traction, making it faster and easier to drive. While it is a performance option for serious racers who want to gain an edge on superior speed and handling, it is also of great benefit to drivers of all levels that want a more predictable and easy-to-drive car in all racing conditions.

Kypak Touring race, Finland – Report

KyPak Touring Race was the first touring car race of 2021 in Finland, and it was hosted last weekend by the KyPak Circuit in Kouvola. Founded in 1990 KyPak (Kymenlaakso’s Model Racing Club) is the oldest club solely focused on model car racing in Finland. The club has great facilities for both outdoor and indoor onroad racing and dedicated staff for hosting RC Racing events for over four decades now. This said, the KyPak Touring Race was nothing short of great. Everyone was eager to get back to racing after a long hiatus in RC racing in Finland. The race itself was held in two classes, Modified Touring and 21.5T Stock Touring. The KyPak Circuit is a great venue with very smooth tarmac and a very technical layout. It bathed in sunny June with temperatures as high as 25 degrees Celsius and with very little cloud cover and small gusts of wind. It was a perfect day for RC racing.
