Carbognani & Tolomelli win Italian 1/12th season opener

The 2021 edition of the Italian 1/12th scale Championship kicked off last weekend in RC Landia, Scandiano. The race was held under the official safety protocols that ACI Sport has agreed with the National Authorities, which is allowing races to go ahead regularly at National level. The Championship will be run over 4 rounds across Italy, exclusively on indoor carpet tracks, and is catering two classes: GT12, run according to the popular BRCA/EFRA rules, and LMP Modified. In GT12, Guido Carbognani took a dominant win ahead of Mattia Dall’Oca and Luca Tassinari, while n LMP Modified, it was Alessio Tolomelli scoring a perfect day with TQ, best lap and ultimately the win ahead of Marcello Galli and Marco Mazzini. Coming up next, on May 30th, the second round of the Championship will be hosted by RMT Torino on CRC Carpet.

Fenix Racing Classique 2 F1 chassis

Fenix Racing have introduce the Classique 2, a follow up to their chassis designed specifically for the brand’s Classique line of F1 bodyshells. The biggest improvement over its predecessor is the ability to use the most popular LiPos, from Super Shorty, to Shorty to LCG Shorty. Another improvement is now a simpler rear end, where the torsion setting is handled via a single setup screw, replacing the damper and springs system used on the previous version. The rear end features a narrower track, for a better grip, while the typical 60’s short wheelbase is retained. Of course, Classique 2 is fully compatible to the existing Fenix Classique bodies. The Classique 2 and F1-70 are meant to be the backbone for the Fenix Collectors Series, which us planned to be released later this year.

Infinity IF14 2 upper bulkhead braces

From Creation Model for the Infinity IF14 2 is two new upper bulkhead braces. Adjust the chassis flex by connecting this carbon brace between the upper bulkheads on top of the top deck. Cut with high precision from 1mm carbon plate it can change the steering and traction characteristics by effecting the rigidity of the front or rear bulkheads. The medium brace on the front increases high-speed cornering while low-speed corner steering decreased. If used at the rear it will give the car better rotation in the rear and understeer is reduced while on power traction is slightly reduced. The soft brace up front gives a good balance between high-speed and low-speed cornering while in the rear it is good balance between rotation and traction.

Mugen MTC2 bypass shock body

Mugen have introduced the optional bypass shock body for their popular MTC2 touring car. Externally the same as the standard shock the inner surface sports additional machined channels which makes for a smoother and softer initial travel of the piston. When using this in the front of the car it makes the car smoother when operating at the corner entry or with less steering angle and is most suited for carpet and high grip conditions.
