Excelerate RC Prodigy Digital Camber Gauge Set

New from Excelerate RC brand Prodigy is this Digital Camber Gauge Set.  With Josh Cyrul using a test version the recent U.S. Indoor Champs, the Wisconsin has now officially released the final version which it says is simply the fastest, easiest and most precise tool to set the camber on your Prodigy or other brand of car.  To use simply remove the front springs (steering blocks optional) and set the car on a flat surface or on set-up blocks.  Zero the digital inclinometers on the flat surface and slide them onto the kingpins.  It is suggested to use a straight edge to keep them parallel to each other across the car.  Leaving the kingpin M3 x 6’s just finger tight in the kingpins, use a Multi-Tool to adjust the kingpin rotation to dial in the camber – always make sure to re-square the Camber Gauges with a straight edge after each adjustment.  When your camber is perfect to the desired setting, tighten the kingpin screw and you are ready to race.

LRP new Weights Series

Just in time for the carpet season, electronics brand LRP has released a new Weights Series.  Made of black burnished brass with a high specific weight, thry have made several improvements, such as optimised dimensions and nicely rounded corners.  The weights allow the chassis to be perfectly tuned to ideal weight distribution, no matter what type of battery is used, while lowering the centre of gravity. The lower centre of gravity improves the handling of your car.  Available in the most popular weights for standard and shorty batteries and speed controllers.  The new super thin double-sided tape pads, 40x40x0.2mm, allow the weights to be attached to the underside of the battery or speed controller with only a minimal increase in the centre of gravity.

2024 SIGP Offroad Chassis Focus Index

After a 4 year break, the last SIGP Offroad Race being held in 2019, China’s top annual international offroad race returned with its best entry yet as three World Champions made the trip to the former 1:10 Offroad World Championship host track in Xiamen.  With almost 100 entries in Nitro Buggy and 53 in Electric Buggy, racers’ biggest rival of 2024 will be remembered as the track, even the best in the World describing it as their most challenging race of the year.  While the European visitors dominated, Italian Mattia Polito really impressing and putting on a great show in the final against a certain Davide Ongaro, we had the opportunity to include the Ming Yang buggy of 2023 FEMCA Champion Jeff Wang in our Chassis Focus.  The Taiwanese driver was the top Asian qualifier and finisher, coming home in P7.  Featuring buggies from Team Associated, Sworkz, Xray and Mayako, we were also able to photograph each of the podium finishing eBuggies.  One buggy we couldn’t include in our Chassis Focus was the WIRC of 18-year-old Italian racer Gabriel Astorino, both his Nitro and eBuggy running new front hubs that are set to appear on the Italian manufacturer’s 2025 kits early next year.

Power HD Balance Weight Crawler Servos

Power HD has released a new Crawler servo series that includes two Balance Weight servos. The cases of WT162 and WT120 are made of pure brass material and can be used directly as balance weight servos.  When used in a simulated crawler frame designed with a servo on the beam, the weight on the beam can be heavier and the posture of the whole car can be better.  Used in a competition performance crawler frame designed with a servo on the bridge, the weight on the bridge can be higher and the crawling performance can be better.  Both WT162 and WT120 use brushless motors and support the Flysky i-BUS2 protocol. The servo status can be directly observed on the Flysky NB4 series radio in real time, and the servo parameters can be programmed on the radio.  WT80 and WT85 use aluminium heat sink case, and the servos on various crawler frames have strong torque and speed, and the performance is also excellent.  WT series servos are all made of steel gears, IP67 waterproof, durable, and can be used in various environments and perform well in 1:10 and 1:8 simulation crawlers and competition crawlers.

PNP 990 & RX8 Ackermann plates

Spanish onroad accessories and optional parts brand PNP (Pata Negra Parts) has released new Ackermann plates for both the Serpent 990 and Xray RX8 1:8 Onroad kits.  Made from 3mm carbon fibre, 2 options of each plate are available changing original distance between pivot balls of the steering rods to 10mm or 11mm.  The plates are useful for fine tuning the car handling to the track conditions and driving style.  More distance results in a car easier to drive, more smooth, and less distance results in a car with more corner speed but harder to drive.
