With America celebrating Independence day today (4th July), 1:12 World Champion chassis manufacturer CRC based in Oneida County, New York, has released some information and low res images in relation to their new 1:12 car kit which it states will ‘be available soon’.  The images are of the car that dominated the 2024 Snowbird and Canadian Nationals.  CRC posted, ‘After many race weekends on the road this past season testing and refining with the team, the result is a fast, simple, lightweight, durable and affordable race car that has already won major championships.  More information will trickle out soon.’  Founded by Frank Calandra Jr in 1993, Team CRC are also making the full switch to metric measurement, saying ‘Keep an eye out for the new 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗖𝗞𝘀 (metric hardware CRC Carpet Knife® pronounced “meh-tricks”) 1/12th race car from Team CRC.’  Highlights of the new car include, ‘Ultra-tune’ front end with easy set-up front wedges (caster/camber geometry pieces), vented king pin for greater damping fluid volume and continuous lubrication, and Low CG thanks to ballast placement just 3mm above race surface but same level as chassis.  The complete kit with standard racing equipment will come in 60-90 grams under minimum weight.

JConcepts RC10B7 servo mount bracket

JConcepts has introduced a new servo mount bracket for Team Associated’s RC10B7 line of vehicles.  Constructed of lightweight aluminium,  the simple and sleek design with performance and tracking advantages have spoken volumes throughout the years on the racetrack.  Setting the trim on any RC car is crucial but perhaps even more critical is for the trim to remain consistent throughout a race.  The mount fits snug inside the chassis servo mounting area increasing the support while the 2 screw mounting locations are beefy in design and zeroed in for a direct mount to the chassis.  The brace has locations on each side for included set screws to help align and maintain servo position during racing conditions, crashes, and hard hits.  The set screws are intended to touch-off against the servo case and provide additional support retaining the servo in the intended position which helps maintain consistent steering trim.

Excelerate RC Prodigy 12 1:12 – Final Prototype

Josh Cyrul, one of America’s most experienced electric onroad racers and an accomplished car designer, has posted on his social media images of the new Excelerate RC Prodigy 12 1:12 chassis he has penned.  In the post Cyrul explains, “This is the final prototype fitting of parts so some of the anodize colors are being switched around as well as the shapes and fit of a few parts but everything is in production with a good portion of production already finished.  I’m sure people will say it’s a copy… Until you flip it over and realize it’s for sure not. A huge % of this car is actually based off cars I drove and started designing in the mid-late 90’s. From the my heavily modified Corally F1 car to the TQ Eagle of the early 90’s and all the hand dremal’d garage experiments along the way, this one is a heavy mix of concepts I’ve tried and really wanted to put together into a singular package.  Steep learning curve ahead as we learn setups for various races and carpets but I’m pretty happy with the foundation we have to work with.  More details coming soon…”  The multiple ROAR National Champion finished up by announcing that he is also working on a second Excelerate RC chassis release saying, ‘Oh yeah, and if you think this is cool…. Just wait until you see the F1 car coming next!!”

2025 Charity Race – Announcement

Having raised thousands of euros for local charities since its inception, the organisers of the annual Charity Race in Italy has announced a new earlier date for the 2025 edition of the popular Electric Touring Car event.  Organised each year by ASD Team La Gang, the Charity Race will take place on January 11/12 at the RC Landia indoor carpet track in Scandiano.  Having clashed with the legendary TITC in Bangkok, Thailand, this year, the earlier running of the 2025 edition should boost the number of factory drivers in attendance.  Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski has won the past two editions of the race which over the years since beginning in 2010 counts reigning World Champion Bruno Coelho and former Champions Marc Rheinard, Ronald Volker and Alexander Hagberg among its winners.  The club are always keen to highlight the main goal of the race stating, ‘Remember, this race is all about giving back!  All proceeds will be donated to support children in need.  Join us for a fun-filled weekend of racing while making a positive impact on the lives of these youngsters.’
