Awesomatix welcomes Martin Hofer to their team

Awesomatix have announced the signing of German touring car specialist and former ETS Champion Martin Hofer to their factory team. Martin will attend all major races including the ETS, Euros and other well known events. Furthermore his urge to perfection will be an additional help for the proactive development of the Awesomatix brand and products. Martin had the following to say about the deal:

I still vividly remember the first race Awesomatix burst onto the ETS stage back in 2011, for it was also my first ETS victory. Back then this little known weird Russian car was all the talk in the pits because it was so radically different. As a curious engineer I have followed their progress ever since and I am very glad to finally make the jump and join the team. I thank everyone at Yokomo and Ronald in particular for the amazing time. As this year of change concludes I feel excited again and cannot wait to see everyone at the races. Stay healthy.

Kyosho announce Inferno MP10 TKI2

Kyosho have announced the latest version of their race winning Inferno line of 1/8th buggies with the release of the MP10 TKI2. The most visible change is a newly designed body that takes the high-level aerodynamic characteristics of the MP10 body in a more aggressive direction. The feeling of lightness through the corners is enhanced, which greatly contributes to faster lap times, especially on more technical circuits. Revised gearing results in changes to the number of teeth of the differential gear and bevel gear to reduce the secondary reduction ratio from the MP10’s 3.31:1 to the TKI2’s 3.5:1. This delivers improved acceleration characteristics and response to the driver’s throttle inputs for superior manoeuvrability. With changes to the secondary reduction ratio, the standard 46T spur gear in the MP10 kit has been changed to 45T. The final reduction ratio is 12.1:1, which places a greater emphasis on acceleration and achieves improved pickup. The front and rear shocks are 3mm longer than the standard MP10 with 4mm longer front shafts and 3mm longer rear shafts. Springs have been lengthened accordingly. Front length of 78 mm and the rear length of 95 mm provide superior shock absorption through the full suspension stroke.

Xray SCX 1/10th Short Course 2wd chassis

Xray have introduced their entry to the 1/10th 2wd Short Course category with the release of the SCX. Based on the company’s XT2 truck platform, the backbone of the car is the CNC-machined 2.5mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium chassis. Super lightweight, its retains the necessary strength and rigidity for the longer wheelbase SCX and is black coated at Xray’s own in-house fully robotic coating line. As is necessary in the SC class the front and rear bumper assemblies protects the truck from impacts with other vehicles during the close quarters racing common in Short Course events, while the side bumper braces provide support to the body in case of an impact and help protect the chassis. A tweak-free fully adjustable battery holder as well as simple battery installation through the smart quick-release system, the car utilises a LCG transmission that uses a super-narrow, ultra-low CG gear box with quick & easy diff access with the narrow design of the LCG gear box, reducing weight and moving all parts closer to the chassis centre line
