Maclan Racing welcome Felix Law

Maclan Racing have announced the signing of Felix Law to their factory team. The US frontrunner and IFMAR Worlds finalist has inked a multi-year and while running Maclan Racing electronics at all major races he will also represent the brand at the track while helping with R&D of forthcoming new brushless speed controllers and motors. Felix has the following to say about the deal:

I’m excited to join the R&D team of Maclan Racing. With the initial testing of the products Willie has to offer, I found their lineup to be focusing on quality & racing needs. With all my knowledge from the past, I will do my best to evolve their product to the next level.

Yeah Racing SCX10 III brass portal axle covers

Yeah Racing have introduced their new brass portal axle covers for the Axial Racing SCX10 III and Capra trail trucks. Weighing in at 20g per piece, the covers add a good amount of extra weight to the wheels area, improving climbing and descending performance over the standard composite parts while also reinforcing the axle area. The covers come as pairs and sport an engraved YR logo.

Maxim Laverychev wins Russian double header race

The 2020 Russian Cup and Russian Championship was a double header race that took place at the Lemar Modelsport track recently. Due to the Coronavirus the race wasn’t so well attended, but racing was tight an in the end it was Maxim Laverychev with the win in the Modified Touring classes of both the Russian Cup and the Russian Championship with both races run on the same weekend. Ilya Plakhotnik came in 2nd overall in the Russian Cup while Andrey Samoylenko rounded out the top 3.

Bartek Zambrzycki wins at Polish Off-road Nats Rd4

Round 4 of the Polish 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held in Wlodowa last weekend. The event took place on what is considered the country’s largest and most challenging off-road track with the weather – hot and dry on Friday and Saturday and cold and wet on Sunday – further adding to the mix. It was Bartek Zambrzycki (Agama) who showed maximum adaptability to the changing conditions, securing the TQ as well as the win after the shortened 22-minute A-main. Tomek Gadnicki (Xray) came in 2nd overall from Igor Goderski (Mugen) in 3rd.

Flavio Elias wins at Brazilian GP On-road opener

The opening round of the Brazilian nitro on-road nationals took place in Americana recently. In the 1/8th IC Track class it was multi-time national champion, Flavio Elias with the overall TQ and he also brought home the win in the 40-minute A-main event. Eduardo Dulac came in 2nd overall, some 15 seconds behind Elias as Samuel Prato came in 3rd overall, already some eleven laps down.

Muchmore 11.1V 4200mAh CTXWP2 tyre warmer battery

Muchmore have announced the release of a new 11.1V 4200mAh LiPo battery pack for the use with their CTXWP tyre warmer. Using the internal battery pack allows to power the tyre warmer’s main unit without the need for a power supply, enabling the mechanic to carry the whole unit into the starting grid of necessary. The battery will be connected using the main unit’s existing power and balancer connectors, ensuring proper functioning of the unit’s low-voltage alarm to protect the battery from becoming damaged.

1up Racing LowPro bullet plug grips

1up Racing have introduced their new LowPro bullet plug grips, a neat and tidy way to stop blowing up speed controls by short-cutting them. The machined aluminum grips slide right on to 1up Racing’s 4mm and 5mm LowPro bullet plugs to clearly identify the positive and negative power wires. The precision CNC machined aluminium grips are finished with dark black anodising and easy-to-read laser etching. The silver outer ring provides excellent grip and cool looks. The grips are secured using a drop of CA glue and they are also available as a black and red set.

T-Works TC-01 titanium & steel optionals

Coming from T-Works and made for the Tamiya TC-01 on-road car are several new titanium and steel option parts. The range includes a titanium ball end set as well as a titanium turnbuckle kit and also a total of three screw sets. The latter include a 131-piece titanium as well as 131-piece UFO or standard head gold-colour steel screws. Using the titanium parts will lower the overall weight of the car while adding visual impact with the gold-colour steel screws mainly adding bling while improving corrosion resistance.
