Balestri European Champion with dominant 200mm win

17-years on from when he last held the title, Dario Balestri is once again the EFRA European 1:10 Nitro Touring Car European Champion after a dominant win in France over the weekend.  Having secured the TQ ahead of Infinity team-mate Jilles Groskamp at the Le Model Club Thionvillois track, the Italian would win the 45-minute final from the Dutch driver by over a lap.  With Balestri’s main challenge in the final coming from the Capricorn of the defending Champion Toni Gruber, the only glitch in the race for Balestri came with just under 10-minutes left on the clock when he had a moment and his car put all four wheels on the grass.  9-seconds up on Gruber at the time, the German couldn’t capitalise because at the same time he would flip his car and on low fuel with a scheduled fuel stop just 2-laps out he suffered a flame out.  Rejoining in fourth behind Carmine Raiola, he would recover and get back passed the Italian Champion to complete the podium behind Groskamp as Balestri took the title for a third time making him the most successful champion of the category.

Factory Team RC10B7 Weight Options

New from Factory Team for the Team Associated RC10B7 is this range of weights to further dial in the weight bias of the 2WD Buggy.  The plates and arm mounts are a direct fit with the servo weight offered in 4g Carbon Fibre, 6g Aluminium and 16g Steel material options.  A steel Arm Mount C weighs in at 26g with the D Mount coming in at 9g.

MonTech 1:10 Touring Car Wing Combo

Following new wing trends, Italian bodyshell producer Mon-tech Racing has released this new wing combo for 1:10 Touring Car.  Made using 0.75mm polycarbonate, both are new wings designs with one giving high load and one designed for medium load.  While light at the same time they are rigid wings to be as efficient as possible giving you smoothness and stability.  Coming complete with fixings the kit includes screws and black plastic washers.

MAD Wurks Mi9 Top Deck Options

US based parts producer MAD Wurks has released a range of new top deck options for the recently released Schumacher Mi9 Electric Touring Car.  In testing they identified benefits from additional top deck flex options to address varying grip levels and conditions on both asphalt and carpet race surfaces.   As a result they have produced 1.5mm and 2mm options in both narrow and wide top decks to help fill the tuning gaps.

Yokomo MS1.0 Caster Measurement Tool and Springs

Yokomo has two new options for its flagship MS1.0 1:10 Electric Touring Car in the form of a new caster measurement tool and new springs.  The new caster measurement tool is attached to the steering block on the MS1.0 to facilitate caster measurement when measuring alignment when the new turnbuckle tuning part is in use.  The tool allows you to check and adjust caster accurately.  The new springs are softer than the MS1.0 standard springs.  Available in 1.8 and 1.85, they are effective for outdoor asphalt surfaces where you want more traction with a combination of 1.80 in the front and 1.85 in the rear recommended.

Balestri Top Qualifier at 1:10 200mm European C/Ship

Dario Balestri is the Top Qualifier for the 2024 EFRA 1:10 Nitro Touring Car European Championship, the Italian heading an Infinity 1-2 in France from team-mate Jilles Groskamp.  Racing at the Le Model’Club Thionvillois in northern France, where rain has effected the action, Balestri topped the opening three qualifiers to secure pole position for Saturday’s title race which is the 18th running of the championship.  A former double champion of the category, reigning 1:8 Onroad World Champion Balestri last held the 1:10 European title in 2007 having successful defended his 2006 win.  Fastest in Q4 & 5, Groskamp will start second ahead of the Capricorn of defending Champion Toni Gruber.  Enjoying a very strong season in his National 1:8 Onroad Championship with wins at the first three rounds, British driver Alex Thurston locked in the final direct qualifying spot in the Main taking his Mugen Seiki to P4.  Top French nitro onroad racer Quentin Leroux just missed the cut ending qualifying P5 despite being second fastest in Q5 and he will have to progress from the Semi Finals.

Yokomo SO/MO & YZ-870C Offroad Parts release

Yokomo has added number of new parts for some of the buggies in its 1:10 Offroad range.  For the SO series 2WD Buggy they hand an LC gearbox made from Graphite-mixed resin.  Harder than standard gearbox, it provides increased rigidity of the rear area and on throttle there is less yawing and snagging, allowing for sharper cornering.  Also for the SO is a Rear bulk cap and differential height adapter which also made of graphite-mixed resin increases stability around the rear.  New SO series rear lower suspension arm feature a modified shape to make it more flexible and the wheelbase has been extended to increase the relative front load and achieve higher cornering speeds. They are available in standard type and graphite molding.  For their YZ-870C, the buggy’s large-diameter 2.2-inch wheels are now available in a new white colour, allowing the use of current 2.2-inch size tires while retaining the YZ-870C’s distinctive wheel hubs, making it possible to choose the best tires from a varied lineup for a variety of surfaces.  One new optional part for MO2.0 4WD Buggy is a replacement axle for front double-joint universal.  Finally Yokomo are offer 5.5mm size rod end balls manufactured from titanium.  Reducing weight at the tie rod and upper rod section, they are especially effective in improving steering response and dynamic performance on high-grip surfaces.
