Pro-Line X-Maxx Brute Bash Armor body shell

Pro-Line has introduced the new pre-cut Brute Bash Armor body shell for the Traxxas X-Maxx monster truck. Featuring Pro-Line’s all-new Bash Armor material the lid has been developed from the ground up to be the toughest body Pro-Line has ever produced. The all-new material is twice as thick as regular X-Maxx bodies and is ultra-flexible to prevent cracking and shattering. Unlike clear polycarbonate, the Bash Armor material is white and is not paintable, so Pro-Line includes detailed decal sheets that feature fender and window graphics to complete the look. The Brute is Pro-Line’s take on a modern truck and features a bold grill with eye-pleasing body lines sure to turn heads at your local bash spot. The Brute body has been designed to work with the stock X-Maxx body mount and cage system which is sold separately and is required for proper mounting.

Team Associated B6.1 Factory Lite 2WD buggy kit

Coming soon from Team Associated is the B6.1 Factory Lite 2WD buggy kit, a lightweight variant of the popular B6.1 specially aimed at stock racing classes. Shedding over 45 grams of weight from the original B6.1D, the Factory Lite was designed to excel in classes requiring Spec motors, allowing the racer to take full advantage of the performance offered by the reduced weight. The Factory Lite sheds 30 of the 45 grams in rotational mass alone. Parts used to achieve the weight savings include the MIP PucksT system, MIP Pucks 7075-T6 aluminium outdrives, MIP Pucks Bi-Metal lightweight R-CVD bones (67mm), Factory Team direct drive system, and a lightweight body. All other features here taken over from the B6.1 kit, meaning full parts compatibility. The Factory Lite kit is set for a release in late September.

Ty Tessmann sweeps 2018 Quebec Classic

The 2018 Quebec Classic was held in Napierville, Quebec and hosted by the BegoRC Raceway. The track was a lot of fun with just enough challenge to keep everyone on their toes. The track surface was very unique but also very consistent throughout the day and held up very well. The cars came off clean after a run and there was virtually no tire wear which made for a really good racing surface from a club level all the way up to a high profile international race level. Thursday was open practice and we decided to do a clinic in the morning for any of the drivers that wanted to attend to ask questions or get help with setup. Once the clinic was over we got on the track for some practice, we worked on the setup and got the cars feeling really good. Friday kicked off with controlled practice and one qualifier later in the afternoon. Saturday had two more rounds of qualifying and a 10-minute super pole race to determine starting positions on the grid for Nitro Buggy. Ty Tessmann was able to TQ both rounds of E-Buggy and Nitro Buggy on Saturday to take the overall TQ with David Ronnefalk qualifying 2nd overall in both classes. Ty was also able to win the super pole race and started 1st on the grid for the main on Sunday with David lining up in the 2nd spot.

JConcepts Stampede ’51 Ford Panel Grandma body shell

Coming from JConcepts is the 1951 Ford Panel Grandma body shell for the Traxxas Stampede monster truck. The “Grandma” was one of the most feared vehicles in monster truck racing during the late 1980’s. The 1951 Ford Panel truck was mean, a little green and always known for the most amazing single qualifying passes. JConcepts went to work creating the 1951 truck by once again starting from scratch to redefine a generation design from the “golden years”. The hood of the truck makes its point with a swooping radius and raised badging. The front fenders boast a large set-back to the hood which makes that undeniable stance as a 1950’s panel truck. The stand-up cab screams retro while the side windows are small but large enough for a scale driver to take a look outside. The body line along the side separates the sides to break-up the height between the fenders and top of the dome. The rear fender flare kicks-out in a vicious way to protect chassis components while giving the rear of the vehicle an almost car-like flare. The Ford truck has built-in running boards featuring a diamond-plate look which is found on the real monster while the wheel well openings are slightly enlarged to accommodate a large assortment of jumbo tyres and specifically, JConcepts’ Rangers and Fling King tyres. The front grille is made as a secondary part to get the utmost detail and 3D design which can be painted or decorated off the vehicle for the most convenience. After trimming, the front grille can be attached (using not included double-sided tape) into the recessed portion on the body as the finishing touch to this ultra tough and memorable piece. The body comes clear, including window masks and a decal sheet and it fits all Stampede-based Traxxas monster trucks.
