Serpent SRX8T-e 1/8th scale E-truggy kit

Following the recent introduction of the Serpent SRX8T 1/8th scale nitro truggy kit, Serpent have announced the soon release of the electric-powered SRX8T-e. The kit will retain all of the nitro’s key factors such as performance, reliability, durability, ease of assembly as well as maintenance, coupled with an all-new suspension geometry. The truck is based on a new, narrow main chassis plate machined from 4mm 7075-T6 aluminium for a low weight and high rigidity. The universal aluminium motor mount is of a sturdy yet low-weight design with M4 screws allowing to crank it down for maximum reliability. The gearboxes are of a new 10T/46T design for an optimised final drive ratio which results in reduced rotating masses and faster acceleration. The internal differential gears are Mod 1.25 10T/20T offerings for durability and reduced fading during longer mains. The centre driveline is made up using an aluminium front centre and a steel rear centre driveshaft for the lowest possible weight yet exceptional durability as it can withstand even the most powerful motors. Also part of the package are 16mm big bore shock absorbers with X-ring seals and 3.5mm shock shafts while the included “Pro” shock caps allow to build the shock absorber in emulsion or bladder style for greater setup possibilities. The shock pistons are made of machined Delrin and they are of a 6-hole design. Other features include all-new monocoque suspension arms. They are longer, stronger and allow to use plastic or carbon fibre inserts in order to adjust their overall flex. Also part of the suspension package are ball-raced anti-roll bars, fully sealed outer driveshaft joints, a maintenance-friendly speed controller mount and receiver box as well as a versatile LiPo mount and hold down system that supports 4S block battery packs. Paintable mud guards, aluminium shock towers, aluminium 0 degree steering blocks and 15 degrees C-hubs as well as a fully adjustable steering Ackermann are also part of the extensive new features list. The kit is rounded out by plus 15mm super tough wing mount as well as a stylish new racing truck body shell. The kit should hit stores this week.
