Based on the R21 from OS, the engine is a 7 port design and features a new hand tuned liner and specially made piston. The crankshaft has also been tuned to aid in performance along with a new under-head button. They claim that overall the engine will have more power than previous versions and not hinder run time in doing so.

Exotek Racing Slash carbon drag options

Exotek Racing have gone big into the growing drag scene and today have released some goodies for the 2wd Slash and Bandit. First up is this extra long adjustable carbon fibre wheelie bar, which extends from 9.5″ to 12.5″ (axle to axle) to match NPRC race class rules. The longer bar gives you more stability, for straighter and faster passes without needing to let off the throttle as often. You are able to finely adjust the wheel height via the 4mm turnbuckle or make large adjustments by adding spacers under the wheel. Made from heavy duty 3mm carbon fibre with alloy turnbuckles and mounts it includes a ball raced machined alloy wheel with oversized rubber o-ring tire. For the Slash, and also suitable for oval body mounting, is a heavy duty carbon fibre and alloy base body mount set. Extending the body mount back by 28mm and out of the rear windows of most street eliminator cars, the rigid carbon fibre construction ensures less body bounce and flex. Finally there is the new low profile, low ride height heavy duty 4mm thick carbon fibre front shock tower for 2wd Slash street eliminator cars. The lowered tower allows you to mount the body lower and when using Traxxas 4tec shocks it further lowers the front ride height.

GForce maintenance stand

GForce have introduced their new maintenance stands, something a little more helpful than a regular car stand. Available in both offroad and onroad variants it is in fact firstly a car stand for foam padding to prevent the car from sliding off, but in addition it also offers 4 holes for doing shock filling and a large central hole for acting as a third hand to hold your motor while you solder the wires for example. Not only that but the side of the offroad stand also has a magnetic area to put your screws or springs so as to not lose them. Available in anodised blue or black, the offroad version is 53mm tall with the onroad version comes in at 32mm tall.

JConcepts Cush 1.9 – 4.19 OD scaler insert

Different conditions in the scale off-road and crawling scene require different slip and pinch traction and these JConcepts soft inserts can be the missing link at any given moment. The tall and narrower insert fits inside the class 1 size tire like the Landmines and Bounty Hunters and the flat profile provides that scale look. The softness allows a lot of flex to the carcass, lugs and sidewall letting the tire continuously conform to the terrain.

Ronald Volker shock departure from Team Yokomo

In big driver market news, Ronald Volker has announced his shock departure from long time sponsor Yokomo. The German was with the Japanese brand for 11 plus years and won everything there was to win including his World title in China in 2016. Yokomo has gone through some major changes in the passed 12 months with the famous marque changing owners and with Volker handling the onroad team activities alongside driver duties, this will leave a big hole in their team. Ronald gave the following statement:

After more than 11 years, from now on I am no longer part of Yokomo anymore! It was my decision to leave and my decision to look for a new challenge. I can not really describe how thankful I am for taking the opportunity back in 2009 to join Yokomo under Mr. Yokobori and to be able to stay for so many years. I grew in that period as a better driver and person in our wonderful RC World. Together we came a long way which personally highlighted in winning a World Championship and multiple European and ETS Championships, Nationals and many other events. Additionally we had developed some amazing cars within a great team and I had the chance to meet tons of people worldwide and collect so much experience which I never even have dreamed of.

JConcepts Mortician body for Axial SMT10

Dig a hole, lay the competition 6’ under with the new Mortician body for the Axial SMT10 and similar vehicles from JConcepts. The converted to panel truck body is competition friendly and uniquely sized featuring the scolding front headlight protrusions. As a racer, front and rear clearance is important for racing and freestyle competition, the Mortician has the submarine outer light pods resting against the tightly compressed nose to look the part. JConcepts created a beak style front-end, large swooping front flares for a racy feel and a very broad and removed centre grille to back up promises of massive carnage. The panel truck cab and roof-over section is flat and to the point, the windshield has a slight V-treatment for realism. Maximum imagination to the masses is what this body shell is all about with the large exposure panel areas. The tall panel section is a bonus, an artboard in a sense to decorate, decal or paint however the user desires. Included in each body set, a clear and heavy-duty polycarbonate body, decal sheet and the paint mask for all windows.
