In the finals, Esmail carried his dominance with commanding wins in both legs 1 and 2 to secure an early overall win. Julien had to be content with 2nd in A1 and A2, before securing the win in A3. This past Saturday saw the fifth and penultimate round of the X-Factory UK Winter Series take place, with a nice break indoors away from the torrential wind and rain happening outside. A twisty, tricky and technical track greeted the racers for this round and after all four qualifiers had run it was Mark Lewis (Team Associated) who would take the TQ in the 2WD class with his round 3 time, followed by Alex Haywood (Team Associated) in 2nd who just missed out on TQ in round 4 by just over 1.5 seconds, Kevin Hunt, who was switching cars all day…

The penultimate round of the 2019/20 Essex Winter Series took place this weekend. With storm Dennis creating some difficult weather conditions around the country, the entry count ended up being a little lower than the usual full sell-out as some people were prevented from travelling. However, the competition was still close and battles for every position were important. Season 5 of the Urban Touring Series UTS got underway this past weekend with the opening race attracting a record 41 racers. The season opener also saw the expansion of the series to officially include the 45+ Masters TC Class (13.5T Spec Blinky), which saw a strong 16-car grid take to the start. In the premier 17.5T Blinky Touring class, qualifying was a close run affair with three different racers taking TQs in the three qualifying rounds.
