Looking to emulate Greiner’s 2022 double of winning both the 1:10 & 1:8 Onroad Nitro titles, new crowned 1:10 European Champion Gruber would have issues while chasing Balestri from P2 to eventually take the final step on the podium. Running second in the race for some time, unfortunately as the race reached the final 10-minutes Greiner would retire from the final. …over the weekend where the French driver took the TQ and win. Held at the Chetuya Circuit in Sapporo, the capital of the mountainous northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, the signature event of the iconic Japanese manufacturer attracted 50 drivers including Inferno chassis designer and former World Champion Yuichi Kanai. In qualifying, Savoya topped 3 of the 4 qualifiers to secure the TQ from Itaru Kawamoto who was fastest in Q2. …the opening two A-Mains. In A3, having qualified 5th, Maifield would take the win to complete the podium line-up. In the eBuggy finals, while Tessmann won A1, third place qualifier Maifield was able to get his Tekno buggy passed his rival to win second & final encounters. This secured him his second National title with Tekno having become Nitro Truggy National Champion last month at AMain Hobbies’ Silver Dollar RC Raceway in California. Marc Rheinard has the latest ETS round in Austria, the Awesomatix driver taking the win from 3rd on the grid ahead of Xray’s Jan Ratheisky and Mugen’s Erik Dankel. In qualifying at Aigen it was a Mugen lockout at the front of the grid with reigning Champion Ronald Volker securing the TQ from Dankel but in A1 Dankel made a brilliant start to get ahead of his team-mate to lead. Mugen Seiki enjoyed a one-two in qualifying for ETS Austria with Ronald Volker the Top Qualifier in Aigen ahead of team-mate Eric Dankel. Volker would secure the TQ after topping the opening two of the four rounds of qualifying. Round 1 podium finisher Dankel would also top the times, doing so in Q4 to make it a Mugen lock out at the front of the grid at the second round of the championship. …producing his best run in Q1 with the Top 3 completed by the Serpent of US racer Joaquin De Soto Jnr, the later going on to beat Diekman in the Super Pole shoot out. In the 30-minute final Butterfield would lead from start to finish winning by over a lap from De Soto Jnr. Setting the fastest lap of the race, Diekman would complete the podium with Jose Colon fourth. Team Associated’s Tommy Hall is the new British National 4WD Offroad Champion. Third in last year’s title battle behind Champion Michal Orlowski and Neil Cragg, Hall wrapped up his first national title with victory number three of the class at the penultimate round of the 6 round championship. Japan’s Nuclear, the brand of multiple Worlds Finalist Masao Tanaka, has released the latest addition to its ASM range of .21 race engines with the new Ultra Torque. Designed with an emphasis on medium to high speed circuits, in addition to surface treatment processing such as WPC it has also undergone special processing for increased piston strength.
