TLR 5ive-T/B electric conversion kit

Horizon Hobby have introduced the TLR 5ive-T and 5ive-B electric conversion kit. The conversion makes it possible to change the 1/5-scale gas powered TLR 5ive-B buggy or Losi 5ive-T truck into an electric-powered rig. No special tools are required to complete the conversion, the kit parts mount into the existing holes already in the frame and chassis. A carbon-fibre radio tray included can be configured to run single, dual or HS-1000/1005 servos and also included is a mount for an optional mechanical brake servo. The new dual sided servo saver arm provided delivers the precision of a push/pull steering setup and it is made from aluminium for the long lasting durability this monster demands. New adjustable battery trays are made from machined carbon-fibre plate and can accommodate batteries up to 163mm in length so owners can take advantage of multiple battery configurations, including some of the higher capacity XL LiPo packs. Also included is a new motor mount designed to fit most 58mm motors. The motor mount uses the original front engine mounting location with new motor mount slugs designed for use with the electric conversion. ESC mount is elevated to create space on the chassis and get more natural airflow from the body.

JConcepts 2008 Ford F-150 SuperCab MT body

Coming from JConcepts is their new 2008 Ford F-150 SuperCap MT body shell for the growing monster truck community. It looks aggressive both because of development but also because of a new generation demand. In addition and taking the gigantic tyres of these kinds of vehicles into consideration, the front fender and bed sides are left without traditional wheel and fender wells. This allows maximum versatility in a segment that has a wide range of set-ups chassis designs and most importantly, wheelbase. Gmade BOM 1/10th 4WD trail truck

Gmade have released first information and images of their forthcoming BOM 1/10th scale 4WD trail truck. The kit builds on a scale-looking ladder frame constriction with stand-up front shock and laydown rear dampers that make way for the scale roll cage construction. The steering servo is located in the front part of the chassis and the steering assembly is of a zero-Ackermann design for maximised steering performance. Angled front king pins minimise the scrub radius for further increased steering efficiency. The heavy-duty threaded aluminium shock absorbers utilise 3.5mm shock shafts and the transmission, with all-metal internal gears, is of a torque twist reducing design. Optionally a 2-speed hi/lo transmission conversion will become available to add speed when needed. The kit is rounded out by grippy tyres, a cool looking body shell a couple of scale accessories.

ProTek 155 series high-voltage servos

ProTek RC have announced two powerful high-voltage, digital servos in the form of the 155T and 155S. They are usable for both 1/10th scale and 1/8th scale applications and feature precisely machined cases with deep, machined cuts in the lower cases that work as a heatsink to provide additional cooling. The 155T (0.08s/32.6kg-cm) and 155S (0.06s/26.6kg-cm) servos are ProTek’s first to feature a conformal coating – a thin layer of polymeric film that contours to the printed circuit board to protect against vibrations, moisture, dust, chemicals and extreme temperatures. Both servos operate from 4.8 to 7.4V, so they can easily handle high voltage input when conditions warrant maximum speed and torque. Other features include powerful coreless motors, metal gears and black receiver wires for that factory look.
