Jeff Hamon added another State Championships title for 2023, this time the Serpent driver claiming 1:8 Onroad Queensland title at England Park Raceway. Having won the NSW State Titles in electric Touring Car back in May, Hamon would pull off the perfect weekend in his specialist class of 1:8 nitro topping four of the 6 rounds of qualifying to secure the overall TQ. Over the 45-minute final, Bermudez would set to the fastest lap of the race with his FX Engine powered XB8 en route to taking the win by a lap from the similarly Hotrace Tyres shod Sworkz of Spain’s Adrian Pariente Torrijos who line-up 3rd on the grid. 8-seconds back Peyre’s Xray would complete the podium at the 18th edition of the championships which counts David Ronnefalk, Juan Carlos Canas and Lee Martin as just some of its former champions. Bernard-Alain Arnaldi has successfully defended his EFRA 1:8 GT European title in Zagreb, Croatia. Having won the title last year in Lostallo, the Genius driver started his title defence from 4th on the grid with Serpent teenager Andrea Catanzani having secured the overall TQ at the Mini Autodrom Ayrton Senna circuit. Korea played host to the second round of the Asian Onroad Championship over the weekend with Team Yokomo’s Nicolas Lee taking the win. Returning this year after Covid and kicking off in March in Brisbane, Australia, the popular Scotty Ernst organised championship travelled to GRC Raceway near Seoul. In qualifying it was Lee who set the marker for the weekend and with 2 from four round to count Lee’s BD12 topped every round as he secured the overall TQ. Ty Tessmann completed a double at the Visions RC Offroad Championships in Oklahoma, his Nitro Buggy and eBuggy wins netting the Xray driver $6,000 in prize money. Part of the Visions Off-Road 2023 event that brings together all form of full scale off road racing at the 750 acres Mid America Outdoors offroad adventure park, the RC race attracted all the big names in US racing. Infinity’s Dario Balestri is the Top Qualifier at the 1:10 Nitro Onroad European Championships in Sciliy, Italy. The 17th running of the EFRA championships, Thursday presented drivers with some weather issues that stopped the action. Friday they managed to get all 5 rounds of qualifying completed and it was Balestri who reigned at the Naxos World track.
