…two TQ runs from the 5 rounds of qualifying but a P2 in Q4 gave it to the Portuguese driver as Orlowski had to count a P3 from the same round. Fastest for the penultimate round, Mugen’s Burak Kilic will start 3rd ahead of the Team Associated of Germany’s Aaron Rönick. Defending Champion Carlos Canas could only manage 8th on the grid with the driver he took the title from, Team Asssociated’s David Ongaro, securing the final direct qualifying place in the A-Main with P12. eBuggy’s only multiple champion David Ronnefalk (2016, 2017) starts 10th for Mayako. The Warm-Up race for the RC Bike World Championship was held at the MAV Aigen-Schlagl track in Austria last weekend. The track had hosted the World Championships previously in 2019, and so it was great to have many drivers returning again, and also lots of new faces. A special thanks to Davide from Australia, and Jonathan and Andrew from Singapore who had very long travels to reach Austria! In Superbike, it was Fabio Tosti who took the pole position, with Cristian Fabbiano very close through qualifying, and Michele Repetati making it three Italian pilots at the front of the grid….

…Urbain secured 3rd on the grid. In the opening A-Main, Rheinard would take the win ahead of Urbain and Dankel with Orlowski retiring from the race. In A2, Rheinard would suffer a spin allowing Orlowski to go to the front and claim a win that put everything on the line in A3. Offroad market newcomer Sparko Racing has released images of its first 1:8 Buggy chassis the F8. The Taiwanese manufacturer will shortly release full details of the buggy along with details of its Worldwide distribution network. A development version of the Sparko buggy ran at the FEMCA Championships held in Taiwan earlier this year showing promise in the hands of 11-year old Huang Han Ping who lined up third on the grid for the Main final before finished 5th in the 50-minute encounter. Last weekend, the first round of the 1:10 Electric Touring Car Greek Nationals was held at Fanatix Racing Track located in Athens, Greece in sunny but windy conditions. In the Modified class, reigning Greek champion Dimitris Ioannidis (Awesomatix) took the TQ spot early on by taking Q1, Q2 and Q3 while Nitro Greek champion Dimitris Dimitriou (Xray) secured the 2nd spot on the grid with fast Dimitris Kouretas (Infinity) behind him. Attracting over 120 entries, the opening round of the latest season of the long running HKRCSA Cup took place over the weekend at Tom Racing Circuit in Hong Kong where Nicholas Lee would take the win. Making the trip from Singapore for the race, the factory Yokomo driver would open qualifying with a TQ run over the Xpress of Japan’s Yugo Nagashima. With four rounds of qualifying, Lee would secure the overall TQ from fellow countryman & new 2023 team-mate Ethan Cheng. …the Infinity of former 1:10 Nitro Onroad Naoto Matsukura finished just 6-seconds back having qualifier 3rd. With Ishioka encountering problems that would see him retire after 15-minutes, Shinnosuke Yokoyama would complete the podium having started from fifth on the grid. World Finalist Shinya Shimazaki maintained position qualifying and finishing 4th with Yuya Sahashi completing the Top 5. The Infinity International RC Speedway will host the 23rd edition of RC racing’s original World Championship category from October 27 to November 5.
