Koegler & Sartel successful at French BL Champs Rd3

Round 3 of the French 1/8th Brushless Championship was held at the TTRC90 track in Bermont this past weekend. On Saturday the practice rounds were held on a nicely prepared and technical track and under nice weather conditions, however things turned 180 degrees on Sunday when in the wet conditions the track got very slippery and the race was called a day after the 3rd rounds of finals. Ultimately it was TLR’s Felix Koegler with the TQ and win in the E-Buggy class from Jerome Sartel (TLR) on the 2 spot. Cyril Baldini (Team Associated) would round out the top 3. The E-Truggy class also saw Felix Koegler taking the pole position for the A-mains, however it was TLR teammate, Jerome Sartel with the overall win from Felix 2nd and Theo Lemaire (TLR) in 3rd.

Indonesia Buggy Nationals Rd2 – Report

The second round of this year’s Indonesia National Buggy Championship was held at the MRCC track in Medan, North Sumatera. A total of 45 drivers from Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Solo, Pontianak, Banjarmasin as well as local drivers attended this event that originally saw six rounds of 10-minutes qualifying, but due to heavy rain after round 3, the race director decided to take the best two of four rounds. After the fourth, pretty muddy, qualifying round on Sunday, Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) took the TQ honours and he also secured the win in the 45-minute main final followed by Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/O.S.) and Stanley Wangsanegara (HB Racing/O.S.) in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Imbue roll out new MBX8 & MBX7 optionals

Imbue has introduced more products for the Mugen MBX8 and MBX7 platforms. First up is an aluminium centre dogbone conversion kit. Aimed at freeing up the driveline, increasing ease of maintenance and reducing overall driveline weight by 16g, this conversion fits both MBX7R and MBX8 Nitro and Eco variants and is sold as a complete set.

Elliott Boots doubles at Kyosho Masters France

The 20th Annual Kyosho Masters France was held this past weekend at the Sucy en Brie track, attracting many French Kyosho drivers as well as guest from oversea such as Jared Tebo or Yuichi Kanai. In the premier Elite Nitro Buggy class the fight for the win was on between UK’s Elliott Boots and American guest, Jared Tebo. The latter was able to snatch the pole position after the semifinals, however too many mistakes cost him the win in the entertaining 45-minutes main final that saw many lead changes and that was ultimately won by Elliott Boots. Rayan Medjoubi came in 3rd to round out the podium. In the 4-leg E-Buggy A-main Elliott made a clean sweep in the opening three mains to take another win this weekend from Jared Tebo 2nd and Rayan Medjoubi 3rd.

Callum Niblett wins at Slough SRS round

The second round of the UK SRS Championship was held at the Slough track over the weekend. Sunny weather made for a nice day of racing and at the end of the 20-minutes Nitro Buggy final it was Callum Niblett with the win with his Agama. Kevin Brunsden came on a fine 2nd place with his SWorkz buggy and Mike Daniel finished in 3rd with his TLR.

Burak Kilic wins Father’s Day race

The 2018 Father’s Day race was held at the MC Schwedt track this past weekend. The event kicked off on Thursday’s Ascension Day and the following Friday with practice while Saturday was used for four rounds of qualifying of which two counted. Sunday was finals day and in the 30-minute long Nitro Buggy A-main it was Agama’s Burak Kilic with the win from Berkan Kilic (Agama) in 2nd. Johannes Klett (Mugen) would round out the top 3 podium result.

Davide Ongaro sweeps Delta Plastic Race

Last weekend’s Delta Plastic Race was organised by Enjoy Drive and hosted by the Delvi Modellismo track near Rome in Italy. The event attracted the country’s fastest 1/8th off-road drivers as well as guests from abroad and in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro with the win from Tekno RC’s Alex Zanchettin in 2nd. Mugen’s Marco Natale rounded out the top 3 podium result. Over in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was again Team Associated young gun Davide Ongaro with the win as TLR’s Renaud Savoya in 2nd and Tekno RC’s Alex Zanchettin in 3rd completed the podium.

Exotek roll out new XB4 & XB2 option parts

Exotek have introduced new option parts for the Xray XB4, XB2 and XT2 kits. First up is the Flite 72T centre spool set for stock class racing with the XB4 4WD buggy. The ultra lightweight centre spool set greatly reduces the rotating mass of the drivetrain for that extra boost in 13.5T and 17.5T spec racing. The Exotek spool set weighs 18g with the spur gear and the included coated hard steel outdrive cups. The machined 72T POM spur gear is included and bolts on to the lightweight alloy spool. The set is intended for non-boosted stock classes only and it is also compatible with 48 pitch Kimbrough-style spur gear.
