Six short weeks from now, the Reedy Race returns to West Coast R/C Raceway and there is still an opportunity to be a part of it. With a successful lottery entry system and the waiting list contacted, a few entries for the open class still remain. There is still a maximum of 150 entries between 2WD Open and 4WD Open and signups are only available on www.rcsignup.com and must be paid upon entry. …and find the ideal setup. The weather however, prevented any racing in the morning since it rained heavy for a short period and it required 3 hours for the grip to return. A strong contingent of racers arrived from Ireland which also increased the competition at the top. Sunday was a dry day with plenty of grip from the previous days practice. The track is very tight in overall width with a short back straight which requires the tallest gear ratio available to provide the most punch out of the corners and top speed in the shortest distance. The entry for this meeting was low when compared with the previous 4 meetings this season. The current championship leader, John Carr did not make the trip and would miss the chance of gaining valuable points which could make a difference at the end of the season. However the remaining 32 drivers present would have the possibility to gain some strong championship points….
