Dillon Caldwell sweeps RC Pro Series Rd1

452 Raceway of Lindale, Texas hosted the opening round of the RC Pro Series this past weekend, with the event attracting over 120 entries. In Pro Nitro Buggy it was HB Racing’s Dillon Caldwell with the win in the 30-minute A-main event after having a troubled start to the race with his buggy’s engine running lean in the opening stages. However he was able to recover from an early pitstop to re-adjust the settings and from there he never looked back to take the lead in the final stages of the race and ultimately he walked away with the win from Agama racer and top qualifier, Jake French while another Agama pilot, Brandon Rose completed the top 3 results. Over in the E-Buggy class it was Dillon Caldwell with the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the A-mains, leaving behind Brandon Rose in 2nd and Tekno RC’s Tyler Hooks in 3rd.

Kyosho MP10e 1/8th E-buggy kit

Coming soon from Kyosho is their new MP10e 1/8th scale electric buggy kit. Building on the popular MP10 nitro buggy, the electric-powered variant utilises its nitro-sibling’s reliable transmission and proven suspension components with the chassis being specially developed to provide optimised flex and weight distribution. The motor mount allows the use of a range of motor sizes while its position within the chassis ensures best possible weight balance in combination with the new “spread” battery mounting positions. The newly developed layout promised less chassis roll in corners for increased stability, better car control and higher corner speed. In addition, a specially designed receiver box and a screw-secured speed controller mount provide component protection and maintenance efficiency. Other features include aluminium big bore shock absorbers that are both diaphragm and aeration-type compatible and a dedicated body shell makes or a balanced handling and eye-pleasing looks. Serpent Viper 989 40th Anniversary kit

Coming from Serpent is their new Viper 989 40th Anniversary 1/8th nitro on-road kit. The car is issued to celebrate Serpent’s 40th Anniversary and it builds on the proven Viper 989, however it includes many of the parts the team used at the 2019 IFMAR World Championship in California. The base of the car is an ultra-narrow main chassis that offers improved flex characteristics with the main plate being milled down in less load-stressed areas to make it as light as possible while still retaining stiffness in areas needed. The chassis can be loaded with optional balance weights who are attached using a rubber-damped carbon weight bridge that reduces vibrations. On top of this Serpent have incorporated the possibility to add a sliding weight right in the front, also mounted on a carbon bridge. It helps a great deal in avoiding traction rolling and in order to fine-tune the handling of the car.
