The British weather played a big part in the latest round of the 1/8 Circuit series hosted at the newly resurfaced Halifax circuit in the north of the UK recently. A bumper entry was in for the weekend’s racing with both nitro and electric classes competing. ETS Rd2 took place at Arena33 in Andernach, Germany last weekend, only four weeks after RD1 at the same venue. With 173 entries in the six ETS classes the event started with a free practice day on Thursday and a great weather forecast for the whole weekend. As always at the ETS, the race included 4 rounds of qualifying followed by triple mains for everybody. This past weekend was the third round of the fantastic SOOM series, there was once again a great entry of drivers present. The race format was round by round qualifying, with the best 2 results from 4 rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. Then everyone has 1 final except for the 3 legged A finals. The Herts team had designed a fantastic track layout for the event, many racers were pleasantly surprised to see such a great track and facility. …yet another pole position on the A final grid. This time his brother Michael would stop him from having the perfect qualifying session when he took the round 1 win in damp conditions. But once we had a dry track there was no stopping Luke, especially in the finals where he led both legs from flag to flag. The ETS started into season 14 last weekend at Arena33 in Andernach, Germany where last season ended in September 2020. With 200 entries it was a great turnout for the ETS as there are still some countries with very strict Covid-19 restrictions limiting people traveling to races. Last weekend the first round of the Greek Nationals for Touring Modified and Stock classes was held in the high-grip and technical track of RcManiacs at Argos, Greece with 30+ participants across both classes. The conditions were super-hot with air temperatures soaring over 35°C and track temps over 60°C. In the Modified class, 3 out of 4 qualifying runs counted for the starting order.
