Exotek TLR 22-4 13.5 spec centre spool set

Coming from Exotek and made for the TLR 22-4 2.0 1/10th 4WD buggy is a 13.5 spec centre spool set. The super light slipper lock-out conversion greatly reduces the rotating mass of the 22-4 drive line for improved acceleration and lower motor temps which is needed in the very competitive 13.5 spec classes. The complete stock slipper assembly weighs in at 32g while the complete Exotek spool is only 19.7g. The axle is made of titanium to reduce weight but maintain durability and the locking plates are lightened polished aluminium. These eliminates the heavy steel shaft, slipper pads, springs and plates all while using the TLR spur gears and pulleys for easy replacement when needed. Due to the lightweight nature of the conversion it is recommended for 13.5T and 17.5T motors.

Gene Hickerson wins at 2017 FORCE Series finale

The 2017 FORCE Series finals of the eight-round series was held this past weekend at Mills Pond in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The final round was postponed due to the hurricane that went straight up the center of Florida last Fall. Mills Pond is one of if not the Most Southern track in the USA, so the weather was nice and warm all weekend long in the winter month of February. The track was treated with calcium chloride and sugar to try to keep the dust down and increase traction levels. Unfortunately the Florida sun won again and it became a dust bowl with huge ruts and bumps and cupped out jump faces, making the very simple tight layout into a real challenge due to the super high grip and sandy rutted track. 160 entries signed up to battle in the 3 -day long event.

Daniele Ielasi swaps asphalt for dirt

In a statement on social media, Italy’s Daniele Ielasi has announced his, possibly temporary, turning away from competition nitro on-road racing. The former IFMAR World and Italian National Champion will concentrate on 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy racing in 2018, campaigning HB Racing’s B817 and E817 kits. Daniele points out that professional 1/8th on-road racing is taking too much of his time, feeling that race preparation counts more than racing itself, something he hopes will be different in off-road racing. About his move Daniele had the following to say:

That’s right. From this year, after 30 exact years of track racing between categories 1/8 on and 1/10 on, it’s time to add a new challenge to my modeling career, off road! I have to admit it was a very difficult decision, but, as often happens in life you come to a point that you must have the strength to make certain decisions that are important to your future, and even if sometimes they may seem too hasty and little sense.
