Japanese brand Nuclear have released the Type6 version of their ASM 3.5cc nitro onroad engine. An evolution of their Type5 motor, all the changes on this new motor are internal, such as the surface treatment of the piston to further reduce friction and improve the durability. The sleeve, conrod, piston connecting pin and backplate have also received this coating, which together with the newly shaped 9mm venturi, also helps to improve throttle response. …was Xray driver Lex Tyler who came out on top after another tie breaker with EJ Evans. The modified class had 8 racers that competed for 6 heads up races with shuffling positions on the grid. EJ Evans had 3 1st place finishes, Lex Tyler with 2 1st place finishes but more 2nd place finishes to keep the score lower. Last weekend saw round 2 of the EssexCarpetClash championship take place. The track was a little challenging in places to get a perfect lap, but was rewarding when you did. After 4 rounds qualifying, Jamie Hall showed his talent by topping the time sheets for all rounds with his Associated. The rest of the field would then place their best times to get as high up the 8 field grid for the 3 legged finals. The Florida State Series started its 41st season at Valkaria RC, home of the 2016 Roar Nationals. With nearly 90 entries running 3 qualifiers and 1 main and 7 different classes it was set to be a long day of racing. In the heavily contested 17.5 Super stock TC, Wallace Motorsports team driver Dave Vera took the TQ and the wire to wire win with his Infinity If14-2, with Brian Larkin coming in 2nd and Anthony Schimizzi rounding out the podium. …was Chris Tosolini (Serpent) coming out on top in qualifying, taking the tie break with Paolo Morganti (Capricorn) who would have to settle for 2nd on the grid. In the hour long final however Morganti would win by 6 laps from Tosolini in 2nd, while Felix Law (Serpent) would come from 10th on the grid to claim the final podium spot in 3rd. The first round of the popular XRS Slovakia race series was held last Saturday at the Hudy Arena in Trencin. Unfortunately, due to local Covid-19 restrictions the entry count had to be limited to 50 drivers. So as expected, the race sold out in very short time, proving the popularity of the series, even in a complicated time like this. The race was run in 5 classes, with 3 on-road classes.
