The first round of the 2020 Euro Nitro Series took place this weekend at the popular MAV Aigen-Schlagl track in the Austrian countryside. In the 1:8 Scale Class, Simon Kurzbuch secured pole position for Shepherd after the organisers were able to conduct the fifth qualifying round on Saturday morning, beating Infinity’s Dario Balestri in the shootout. In the Main Final, Balestri pressured Kurzbuch over the first few laps, as third place starter Carmine Raiola dropped back and allowed Robert Pietsch into third. Postponed from March due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Malaysia National Championships took place last weekend and for the first time in its history was run alongside another race series, the Arrowmax Cup. A much anticipated race as everyone was not able to race for the last 5 months they received more than 70 entries across 4 different classes, ranging from 13.5T Boosted, 17.5T Blinky GT, 17.5T FWD and 17.5T Racing Truck. The opening round of the TTPRC Championship was held in Lima, Peru after racing came to a halt for about five month due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Sergio Suarez, who started from 3rd on the grid, who took over the lead already after the first corner and from there he never looked back to take the win from Walter Donaire in 2nd. Last weekend’s KO Propo Grand Prix was hosted by the Steel City RC Speedway in Fontana, California last weekend, attracting 124 entries. While JJ Wang took the win in the 200mm Nitro Sedan class, it was Bryce Butterfield with the win in the 1/8th Open category. Coming from P6 on the grid, Bryce took the lead in the closing stages, leaving behind veteran racer, Joel Johnson in 2nd and 7th place qualifier, Walter Diaz in 3rd. The Tiltyard Worlds were held in Dayton, Virginia this past weekend. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Xray’s Paul Ciccarello with the win from P3 on the grid. Paul dropped back to 4th early in the main but then made his way back up to 2nd, with Jason Schreffler (HB Racing) and him would go back and forth a few times for the lead and Paul would wind up with the win. The opening round of the 2020 RC-Lemans Series was hosted by the MCC Rhein Ahr track in Germany last weekend. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic the event was a maiden one this year for many drivers and thus Saturday’s practice was extensively used to get in the first runs of the season. Both the club and the drivers swiftly adapted to the new measures that had to be taken to guarantee everyone’s safety and things really worked out great from the get go.
