Shepherd Velox 8.2 Rear Shock Tower Mounting Set

In the first of a series of new option part releases since its take over last by David Spashett’s Zen Racing, onroad nitro chassis manufacturer Shepherd has released a new Rear Shock Tower Vertical Mounting Set for its Velox 8.2.  The new rear Shock mount for its flagship 1:8 onroad chassis offers a much more tuneable option for the rear shock angle.

Xray XB2 & XB4 12mm Hex Wheel Aerodisks

Xray has released a range of yellow wheel Aerodisks for its XB 1:10 2WD and 4WD Buggy platforms.  The wheels are IFMAR standardised with the wheel hex offset and feature countersunk center area which allows the wheel nut to sit deeper in the wheel.  Designed for high-competition racing, they feature internal reinforcement ribs to provide stability and resist deformation.  The side of the wheel is aerodynamic for maximum performance with the wheels featuring a 12mm internal hex.  The range offers two 2WD front wheel options, a 2WD/4WD rear wheel and a 4WD specific rear wheel.

Miedema joins Fenix Racing

Specialist 1:10 Formula 1 racer Jitse Miedema has joined Italian manufacturer Fenix Racing for 2024 on a multi year deal.  The ETS Winner, World Cup finalist, European Championship finalist and Dutch Champion joins Giorgio Favaretto’s passionate F1 RC brand after a long stint with Infinity having played a key role in the development of the Japanese company’s IF11 Formula 1 chassis.  Commenting on his new deal, the personable Dutch driver said, ‘Very happy to now be part of Fenix Racing.  Also I’m still very grateful for everything Infinity has done for me.  Time for a new chapter!!’  Miedema’s first big outing with his new car will be the International Dutch F1 Masters in March of which he is the defending Champion.

Schumacher bolster MIBO entry with Kobbevik & livonen

Schumacher Racing has bolstered its entry for the upcoming MIBO International Race in the Czech Republic with the news Daniel Kobbevik and Pekko Iivonen will join Michal Orlowski at the second edition of the event on February 16-18th.  Having the British manufacturer previously confirming Orlowski would be taking on the event’s unique double track build, racing for both the onroad and offroad titles, he will be joined by Kobbevik in offroad and Iivonen in Touring Car.  A multiple Norwegian National Champion and former European Championship Top Qualifier, Kobbevik will be in the mix for Schumacher against strong opposition led by Sworkz’ Joern Neumann.  The 2023 Finnish Modified Touring Car National Champion, Iivonen has had a strong start to the 2024 season making the A-Main at the recent ETS Daun and he will be hoping to build on that as he goes up against the likes of Orlowski, Mugen Seiki’s Ronald Volker and Yokomo’s Christophet Krapp at the Sports V Hotel venue in Hrotovice.

Hobbywing announce Kittipong & Cheng

Hobbywing has announced two prominent Asian driver signings with reigning FEMCA Champion Kittipong Ruangchuamuan and eSIC Open Brushless Champion Ethan Cheng now officially representing the Chinese ESC and motor manufacturer.  Thai driver Kittipong was crowned FEMCA Modified Touring Car Champion at the end of November at Huge RC in Bangkok where he beat Yokomo’s Nicolas Lee and Xpress’ Yugo Nagashima.  From Singapore and a team driver with Yokomo, last September Cheng won Stock at the inaugural eSIC (Electric Singapore International Challenge) race held at the RCMC race track in Singapore as well as making the internationally load Modified A-main at the event.  Cheng was also an A-Main finalist in Modified at the inaugural Foshan Invitational RC Championship in China in December which was won by former World Champion Ronald Volker. As part of the same announcement Hobbywing also added Thai driver Atthakoon to its 2024 team.

Aerox plastic specific side cutters

New from Aerox, the accessories brand from Schumacher, are these plastic specific side cutters. Designed to remove plastic parts from a sprue it is available in a double edge or single edge jaw design. The Slim Double Edge cutter has two sharp cutting blades with the slim, thin & sharp jaw blades enabling easier removal of smaller parts with less clearance around the sprue. It is best for use on plastic parts with a diameter of less than 3mm. For hard plastics cutting diameter is limited to 1.5mm. It has an adjustable screw to protect the precision blades from damage. The Extra Slim Single Edge cutter has a single edge with one sharp blade with a strong focus on plastic gate cutting.

Lugz RC Ghost Barz 1:10 Buggy Tyres

American tyre brand Lugz RC Racing has has announced its latest 1:10 buggy release with the new GHOST Barz.  Based off of their existing BARZ tyre, the new Ghost variant shortens the existing tread pattern from .6mm to .1mm while the carcass has been thickened to add overall support.  The tyre is designed as a semi directional, one direction will give slightly more forward traction & less side grip or reverse the direction and have slightly more side grip and less forward traction.  Also a great tuning option on the front of the car, before doing set up changes to the vehicle to add or loose steering, try rotating the tyres.
