Tamiya TRF104 – First images

Better known as the Nürnberg Toy Fair, Spielwarenmesse officially opened today with RC fan favourites Tamiya using it to unveil their new TRF104 1:10 F1 kit.  Well known racer German racer Dai Sakaguchi, who also operates Sakaguchinetshop, was one of the first to publish images of the first new TRF F1 offering since the Japanese manufacturer released the previous TRF103 back in 2018.  German online shop Tamico then added more images for fans to dissect.  The key feature of the TRF104 is the is the updated suspension from it predecessor, the move being made to a front set-up that use plastic arms and lets you adjust camber and caster with minimal fuss.  At the rear the design employs all connections on the motor mount with the drivetrain’s rear diff unit using carbon fibre shafts and included ball bearings for efficiency.

Xray X12 1.0mm Carbon Side Brace for 1-Piece Chassis

Xray has introduced these carbon fibre super-thin chassis side braces for its X12 1:12 car.  CNC-machined from 1.0mm premium high-grade USA made carbon fibre thinner 1.0mm side braces increase overall traction, making the X12 more forgiving on the track.  Suitable for low traction carpet and asphalt tracks, the side braces accommodate special low profile, lightweight bushings to reduce the chances of chassis tweak, and for a low centre of gravity.

GForce Genova 2WD Buggy Special Box by Masami

Japan’s GForce has announced an overseas limited edition of their Genova 1:10 2WD Buggy call the ‘Special Box’ which has been supervised by RC legend Masami Hirosaka.  GForce a hugely successful collaboration with Masami when it created the 4WD MX-4 Forever, and is now releasing 100 ‘Special Box’ kits of the Genova for the oversea market.  Designed by Masami, the Genova buggy features a rear motor placement and a 292mm long wheelbase and the body design captures a nostalgic form reminiscent of the past and fulfilling the dreams of RC enthusiasts.  As part of the ‘Special Box’ you get a painted body in Masami colours painted by famous Japanese body painter Takashima Design.  Also included is a low-profile digital servo jointly developed by Masami Hirosaka and KO PROPO.  Furthermore the buggy comes with an Aluminium Big bore damper set and titanium turnbuckles, Masami hand cut foam inserts and Team Azarashi’s original stickers.

Lee joins RaceformRC as Ambassador & Team Manager

Team EAM batteries for Kaerup

Having switched electronics sponsor for the 2025 season with the announcement last week he has joined Hobbywing, leading Offroad talent Marcus Kaerup will also have a new battery sponsor in Team EAM.  The 17-year-old Dane joins fellow Scandinavian offroad racer Daniel Kobbevik in bolstering the US brands presence in the offroad scene, the Eric Anderson owned company better known for their onroad racing exploits.  With 2025 a World Championship year for 1:10 Offroad, it will also see the inaugural running of the 1:8 Electric Buggy World Championships, with Kaerup, already a 1:10 and 1:8 Offroad World Finalist, expected to be a title contender at both for Team Associated.

Orlowski retains ETS title with win No.4 in Daun

Michal Orlowski has retained his ETS title, the Schumacher driver claiming the championship with one round to go after notching up his 4th win of the season at Round 4 in Daun, Germany.  Securing the TQ after topping the times in the opening 3 of the four qualifiers, the Pole held off the new Mugen Seiki MTC3 of Ronald Volker to win the first of the A-Mains on Saturday evening.  In A2 on Sunday morning again Volker showed great pace setting the fastest lap but Orlowski stayed out front to take the win and with it his second ETS title.  Winning A3, former ETS Champion Volker finished 2nd overall to return to the podium for the first time this season.  Qualifying P3, recent GP3F winner Marc Rheinard completed the podium ahead of Awesomatix team-mate Simon Lauter and the leading Xray of Adam Iszay.  In Pro Stock Mugen Seiki would get the win thanks to Sören Sparbier who claimed his first ETS success securing the TQ and victory ahead of Iszay and Round 1 & 3 winner Lukas Ellebrock.  In FWD, Schumacher driver Márk Valent took the TQ and win to give the Hungarian a 5-point championship lead over Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard with one round remaining.

Philippine Masters ’25 – Announcement

It has become a bucket list race in the 1:8 Offroad racing scene and the organisers have today announced that registration for the 2025 edition of Philippine Masters is open with just 200 entries up for grabs.  Scheduled for April 30-May 4th, the 13th running of the Philippine Masters will see racing for 1:8 Nitro Buggy, 1:8 eBuggy and 1:8 Nitro Truggy (click here to register).  A race that was started by local Philippine racers with no ambitions for it to become a major event on the international racing calendar, the Philippine Masters has grown into becoming Asia’s biggest annual 1:8 Offroad race meeting.  The success of the race, which takes place in the capital city of Manila, has lead to the continent getting its own high profile championship with Race Director Scotty Ernst creating the Asian Buggy Championships of which PM25 is the second stop of four races that make up the championship’s third season.  The Philippine Masters is one of Red RC’s favourite annual events to attend and report on as it combines both top level racing and a social atmosphere around the racing that lives up to the host country’s tagline ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’.

Exotek Racing B7 Carbon Fibre Battery Brace Set

California based Exotek Racing has added these Factory race looking heavy duty machined carbon fibre battery braces for the B7 series of 1:10 2WD Buggies from Team Associated.  Feature machined out sections on the underside of the brace, they match the stock geometry for a perfect fit of 4800-6400 shorty packs and install using the stock hardware and instructions.
