Sparko adds US talent Wilson to team line-up

Surprising many with the news earlier this week of his departure from long time chassis sponsor Team Associated, young US Offroad talent Jonah Wilson has been announced as the latest driver addition at Sparko.  Having already announced American Cole Odgen and French teenage offroad talent Noha Ben Mohamed will run the Taiwanese manufacturers 1:8 Offroad platforms in 2025, the 18-year-old further bolsters the brand which only arrived on the racing scene in mid 2023 with the release of the F8.  The 2023 ROAR National Junior Champion, Wilson’s 2024 season included a number of high profile race eBuggy TQs and wins as well as a Nitro Buggy A-Main start at Silver State and Nitro Truggy A-Main at the ROAR Nationals.  On his new chassis sponsor the Tennessee driver said, ‘I am very excited to be a part of the Sparko team!  Helping to develop and promote the brand is something I look forward to.  I hope to also bring value in helping others and of course get some solid results on track!  I can’t wait to get to the races and work with everyone!’

Alpha Falcon B-Spec .21 Offroad Engine

Taiwanese engine manufacturer Alpha has announced the upcoming release of its Falcon B-Spec .21 Offroad Engine.  Best known for powering the campaign of US Kyosho driver Ryan Lutz, the original Alpha Falcon engine was launched 12-months ago.  While Lutz has consistently used it to claim podium finishes and Team Associated’s Neil Cragg took it to third overall in the British National Championship, behind the scenes Alpha engineers have been working to further elevate the engine performance, the result of which is the B-Spec Falcon.  With this new version, Alpha claim enhanced power and improved fuel efficiency while maintaining the same quality and linear feel as before.  To distinguish the B-Spec it gets a fresh, sharp head logo.  The planned release for the B-Spec is set for Q1 2025.

Xray X4 Glass Fibre ‘Soft’ Upper Decks

New for their X4 1:10 Electric Touring Car, Xray has released these ‘Soft’ Glass Fibre Upper Decks.  Specially made from flexible & durable glass fibre material to increase the flex of the car they improve handling on low to medium grip tracks.  Machined from 1.5mm glass fibre, the shape of the top deck has been specifically designed to achieve maximum traction and great steering characteristics at the same time.  The top deck can be connected to the motor mount using these alternatives.  For a Soft setting, only one rear screw is used. This allows maximum flex and provides maximum steering. However, the car is less stable on-power. To achieve a Stiff setting, both screws are used. This setting gives reduced flex both in front and rear. Mid-corner steering is decreased, rotation is decreased.  This setting provides maximum stability and makes the car easier to drive.
