Carson Wernimont joins Mugen USA

Mugen Seiki Racing have announced the signing of Carson Wernimont for the 2014 racing season. The former Durango driver, who just signed for Schumacher to run electric, joins Worlds finalist Taylor Peterson and will be a strong addition to the team that Mugen USA is building for the 2014 race season.

Zen Racing 1/12th diff hub set

Zen Racing introduce this diff hub set for 1/12th on-road chassis. The set has been designed to give 1/12th rear wheels a more positive lock to eliminate wheel wobble. Also with the addition of the left hand clamp spider the rear axle weight is far more equal aiding better drive forward and a better balanced rear axle. The hubs also make use of M2.5 screws over the conventional 4-40 fasteners for an easy and simple use track side. All parts are also available separately.

Barry Baker returns to Reedy

Barry Baker returns to Reedy

RC racing legend and long-time Reedy factory driver Barry Baker, a 4-time winner of the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions and 10-time ROAR National Champion, has returned to the Reedy team for 2014. Barry’s years of experience racing a variety of classes will provide feedback crucial to product development while his dedication to winning will surely see him on the podium more often than not. This is what Barry has to say about the deal:

I am very happy to be home where I belong! I owe so much of my racing career to Mike Reedy and everything he has done for not only me, but for the industry also. It will be a great honor to represent the Reedy brand! With everything that the group at Reedy has come out with and the new products being worked on, it seems that the future looks so bright. Team Orion Advantage Touch Duo charger

Team Orion introduce the Advantage Touch Duo AC/DC multi-chemistry charger. Building on the experience gained with the single output Advantage Touch chargers the device features a build-in 200 watts power supply for up to 10A charge current per output for simultaneous charging of up to two 6S LiPo battery packs. A colour touch screen display show all of the important charging, discharging and balancing parameters and a new split view allows to display  the data of both channels. The charger is also equipped with a USB connector for firmware upgrades and two temperature probe connectors. Included with the charger come two 4-in-1 balancing boards.

Matteo Berlincioni wins F1 at WRC Contest race

The WRC Contest race, organised by Mini Racing Chiasso, was run in Faloppio, Italy last weekend. In the F1 class which was run on Saturday Fenix Racing’s Matteo Berlincioni brought home the win in front of Davide Carbone (IRC).  Fenix Racing driver Bryan Ferrara completed the top 3 result.

Alex Zanchettin wins 2014 Italian Job Race

Alex Zanchettin wins 2014 Italian Job Race

The 2014 Italian Job Race took place at the famous IBR Padova indoor dirt track in Italy. The race attracted a good amount of European top drivers like IFMAR World Champion Robert Batlle, Renaud Savoya, Yannick Aigoin and Elliott Booth to name just a few. The finals where run in a triple A main format over the standard “single leg” final making for loads of track time and an exciting race for the overall crown. At the end of the three 15 minute legs it was TLR’s Alex Zanchettin who brought home the F1 category win on home soil in front of Robert Batlle (Mugen) and Xray’s Renaud Savoya. Alex started with a win in A1 but had to make way for Robert Batlle and David Ronnefalk (Kyosho) in A2. The third and decisive final than had Alex taking the win in front of Renaud Savoya and Martin Wollanka (Xray) to take the overall victory in front of Robert Batlle and Renaud Savoya.

CRCRC Winter Midwest Championships – Report

CRCRC Winter Midwest Championships – Report

The 2014 CRCRC Winter Midwest Championships took place at the Ohio RC Factory with an impressive 458 total race entries making this one of the biggest CRCRC Winter Midwest Champs of all time. In 2WD Modified Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield made a clean sweep in the finals by winning the first and second A main handing him the overall win with one A-main to go. Behind him Kyosho’s Jared Tebo and Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri battled for the second spot with Cav eventually taking it with two second place finishes. Jared Tebo ended in third while Tanner Denney completed the top 4 after winning the final A main.
