Hobbywing XeRun V10 G4R 21.5T Standard & ROAR

Having launched its latest XeRun V10 G4R motor back in March, Hobbywing has now added a 21.5T to the line-up which debuts at the EFRA 1:10 Electric Touring Championships which are currently underway in Roeselare, Belgium.  Like the previously released 13.5/17.5 variants, the 21.5 will also be available in two options, Standard and ROAR.  These editions are designed to cater to different levels of competitive racing, providing unparalleled control and performance for RC enthusiasts.  Over its predecessor, the new G4R features a new stator, rotor and sensor assembly improves the motor’s performance and power dramatically.  Compared to the G4, the G4R shows confirmed improvements in overall speed by up to 5% while the output power is increased by nearly 4%.  The new G4R stator and winding design reduces the overall internal resistance, while maintaining the requirements for sanctioning spec class rules.  The improved motor efficiency reduces the temperature rise to keep internal resistance numbers consistent.  The internal resistance is about 3% lower than that of G4.

Schelle B7 +/- 2.5° Alu Bulkhead | 13mm Fat Boys Pistons

Schelle Racing Innovations has added two new products to its offering of Team Associated aftermarket parts with the release of a +/- 2.5 Degree Aluminium Front Bulkhead for the B7 and a range of 13mm Fat Boys Pistons.  Owned by well known vehicle engineering Kurt Wenger, Schelle’s latest parts launch comes after a successful debut at the 1-Up Challenge held at Hobby Action in Chandler, Arizona.  The Schelle +/- 2.5 Degree 7075 Aluminium Front Bulkhead is made in the strongest billet aluminium alloy and its design utilises an added rib on the +2.5 side to increase cross-section and strength.  For all Team Associated 13mm shocks, Schelle is giving the “Fat Boy” piston treatment to 13mm shocks in 2-hole and 3-hole variants.  The 2.7mm thick Fat Boy piston profile reduces blow-by and provides a longer channel for the valving, thus increasing pack at high speeds.  The Fat Boys are ideal for cases where you need to run a larger hole piston to gain grip, but you won’t have to sacrifice stability or jump landing.

TestLogger Collector Mini

Finnish company TestLogger, owned by 2011 IFMAR Electric Buggy World Championship organiser Jussi Luopajärvi, has just announced the official launch of the TestLogger Collector, a product line on providing data logging equipment for RC cars racing.  Inspired by the technology used in full-scale motorsports, TestLogger Collector offers a range of tools and equipment that deliver many of the advanced capabilities seen in professional full-scale racing.  Whether you’re a club racer seeking an edge or a pro driver ready to push boundaries, the new TestLogger Collector Mini is tailored for those willing to put in the extra effort to uncover every bit of performance.  Developed and tested with real racers, the Collector data logging system is a handy tool for collecting and analysing data and that way improving your track performance.  Designed to fit any RC car from 1/12th scale pan cars to 1/5th size off-road cars, the modular system is easy to install and weighs less than 20 grams sensors included.  The Collector Mini is like what is used in full-scale racing but considers the specific needs of RC car racing. System is designed to be future proof and maximise the compatibility with rule books.  Collector Mini allows users to utilise the measured data to analyse the driving techniques or gain more understanding about car behaviour.  As an example, optimise your final drive ratio, measure your air time in offroad or compare data from different drivers to understand where the time difference is coming.

Niko Saarinen crowned Finnish 1:8 Onroad Champion

Mugen Seiki driver Niko Saarinen is the 2024 Finnish 1:8 Onroad National Champion, the title being decided at the fourth & final round which took place in Hyvinkää over the weekend.  Three drivers went into the final race still with a chance of the overall with drivers counting 3 from the four races with Pekka Koivula leading the standings from Niko Saarinen and the defending Champion Jere Saarinen. The race was run in tricky conditions with the track changing from wet to dry.   Practice was run on a drying track but luckily when qualifying came around the track had dried up allowing for 2 rounds in the dry before the rain returned.  Based off the dry runs it would be Niko Saarinen who took the TQ, from Panu VehniäinenI and Jere Saarinen.  The main final was driven in drying conditions meaning everybody had to be very careful to not push over the limit.  Niko took the early lead followed by VehniäinenI while there was a collision on the straight between Jere, Joona Lempiäinen and Koivula, which forced the Champion to change tyres due to a broken rim and while Lempiäinen required a bodyshell change.  After 20 minutes Niko was till leading followed by Vehniäinen until the second placed driver  ran into transmission problems and was forced to retire.  Allowing Niko to take the win ahead of Jere with Lempiäinen completing the podium,  overall Niko’s Max Power engined Mugen took the title ahead of the similar O.S powered car of Koivula.  Also driving a Mugen, fitted with a Max Power engine, the outgoing champion complete the Top 3 ahead of the Infinity of  Lempiäinen with Vehniäinen’s Mugen 5th.
