Nosram Pure Evolution BL motor

The motor that won the 1/12th scale World Championships on its debut, Nosram release the all new Pure Evolution brushless modified motor. Essentially the same motor as the LRP X12, this Pure Evolution is the successor to the proven Storm Evolution motors. Designed for maximum power and highest possible top speed in top-level modified racing, it uses state of the art components like the all new world champion XTEC X12 competition teardown, PreciSensor system, extra-thick copper winding and a special low-resistance design, which makes this motor extremely powerful and efficient. Available in 3.0T, 3.5T, 4.0T, 4.5T, 5.0T, 5.5T, 6.5T, 7.5T and 8.5T.

Reedy 35C EFRA/BRCA LiPo Battery

Due to EFRA’s regulations for LiPo batteries being different regarding dimensions from that of ROAR, Reedy is pleased to announce the release of 35C standard and saddle pack batteries specifically for the European market and for clubs that use EFRA regulations as well as those set forth by the BRCA. Even though the battery dimensions are smaller and capacity is reduced slightly, the 35C rating remains the same, resulting in world-class power for all racing classes.

King Headz 8ight 2.0 front tower

King Headz, the metal optional parts specialists, have created a new CNC machined front shock tower for the Losi 8ight 2.0. These shock towers have been machined from 7075 aircraft grade aluminium and then anodised, which offers a huge increase in strength and rigidity over the original parts.

Xray lines to get 2009 upgrade

Xray have sent us this image, which is also on their website, outlining that three cars in their range will be getting an update to 2009 specs. Cars getting an ugrade are the XB808 buggy which was released at the Nuremberg toy fair last year, the NT1 200mm touring car which hasn’t had many updates since its release 2 years ago, and finally the XT8 which has been updated since its release back in early 2007. We expect some details to leak out prior to their unveiling at the toy fair in 2 weeks, and we will bring you that information as we get it.

Xray XB808 Diff Bearing Collar

New for the XB808, Xray have released this pair of aluminium collars to provide even spacing between the bearings in the front & rear diff bulkhead blocks. With capturing screws tightened, both bearings are strengthened in the block so they can support more load thus improving bearing life span.

Protoform Cup – Announcement

CML Racing, together with Protoform, have announced the Protoform Cup, and indoor electric event to be run on the 25th and 26th of April at the Maritime Raceway in Kent, England. Expected to attract many top on road racers from both the UK and Europe, it will be open to Pro Mod, Stock 10.5, World GT and 1/12th scale classes, with entry opening later this week.

Truman wins Petit RC Race 4wd class

Having already covered the 2wd class at last weekend’s 3rd annual PetitRC race, held at the Maritime Raceway venue in the UK, Team Orion have the report on the 4wd class. Qualifying saw Hot Bodies driver Tony Truman lay down a mistake free run in round 3 to TQ the event by 4 seconds. In the finals Tony finished 2nd in leg 1 after after a little mistake cost him the win, but had a better run in leg 2 to win unchallenged. In the 3rd leg, a mistake dropped Tony back to 4th, but he was able to get his head down and work his way back to 2nd, which was enough to take the win, ahead of 2wd winner Lee Martin and Simon Moss in 3rd.

Jon Hazelwood to use Savox servos

CML have signed Hobao’s lead driver in Europe, Jon Hazelwood to run the new Savox servos in 2009. Jon a World Finalist and 4th at last years European Championships was convinced that these new servos were the future after testing them in his Hyper 9 buggy. He joins Elliot Boots, Dave Crompton and Ellis Stafford in using this new brand of servos. He had the following to say:

They feel excellent, they have great speed and torque and yet they are 15g lighter than my previous servos. What more could you want?
