Hagberg dominates Friendship Race

The annual Friendship Race which takes place in Eskilstuna, Sweden is known to be the biggest and most competitive TC race in the country. This years edition saw a rather low turnout compared to earlier years but a few of the Swedish top racers were there fighting for the prestigious title. Among these were Xray factory driver Alexander Hagberg, local fast guy and Swedish 1:10 GP champion, Magnus Vässmar, SSIC Champion Niclas Nilsson, worlds semi-finalist Roland Ström among others. It was Alexander Hagberg who dominated the race throughout qualifying, taking maximum points to secure the overall TQ position. In second was Magnus in front of Niclas and Hot Bodies driver Tommy Bergfeldt on the 4th spot. The finals never really got exciting since Alexander made no mistakes and could pull away to take the win in the first two finals. In the third a-main Alexander was challenged by Magnus for the opening laps but this came to an end rather quickly as Magnus made a mistake coming through the very narrow chicane. In the end it was Magnus who finished 2nd and Niclas on 3rd overall.

Thanks to Alexander Hagberg for the report.

CRC Gen-X 10 upgrades & Flex wires

Team CRC have released a number of new items including some Gen-X 10 upgrades, Ultraflex wire and Super soft sensor cables. The Gen-X 10 upgrades include this optional wide body mount set that allows you to better mount the “hot” World GT bodies like the Protoform Corvette and Sophia by setting the posts much wider allowing them to avoid coming through the cockpit. Also new is a front stiffener plate, which is made from 2mm carbon fibre, and helps stabilize the car, reducing the tendency to traction roll on high grip tracks. Finally CRC have new softer, more flexible, Ultraflex 16 gauge wire for 1:12th and 1:10th pan cars as well as new super soft brushless sensor wires that are available in 3 different lengths.

As is standard in the class it is rear belt driven, it has a full adjustable front end and the rear of the car features adjustable camber and toe. The chassis and radio tray are both made of aluminium and the steering servo is in the laydown position, something not common in this class.

McPappy Racing 1/10th scale Dart

We don’t cover much oval racing, but this new car from McPappy Racing is pretty sweet looking. The ‘Dart’ has been designed with many new innovations and has the left-most weight, lowest rear roll centre, lowest centre of gravity, roomiest rear motor pod and is the lightest floating T-plate kit available today. The chassis was also designed and tested for just the right amount of chassis flex, while the floating T-plate design not only offers centerline position, but also offers an offset position. The kit is made with 2.5mm quasi-isotropic carbon fibre throughout and the rear pod is topless and can be moved farther to the left than anything else available. Without extending the wheelbase, the spacious pod allows you to fit a 124 spur with a 65T pinion.
