Lee Martin wins European ‘B’ title

Lee Martin wins European ‘B’ title

The European ‘B’ Championships for 1/8th scale buggy were run last weekend at the USBRC’s track in Bergerac, France. Qualifying saw a close battle between Associated driver Lee Martin and Losi racer Darren Bloomfield, both from the UK, as well as Czech driver Martin Bayer. In the end it was Lee that took an easy pole position ahead of Bayer, who managed to claim the spot from Bloomfield in the last round of qualifying, demoting Darren to the 3rd spot. Following the semi’s, the final saw Lee and Darren immediately shot off into the lead of the 45 minute race. Darren worked his way passed Lee in the early stages, but problems following the first refuelling dropped him down the order and gave Lee some breathing space at the front. Darren would eventually work his way back to the front, managing to come from 10th to take 2nd in the last 5 minutes of the race. Lee Martin took the win, and the European title, ahead of Bloomfield in 2nd, 2 laps back, with French racer Romain Soret in 3rd, 1 lap further back.

Associated Factory Team RC10R5 Kit

Associated Factory Team RC10R5 Kit

The new Factory Team RC10R5 is Team Associated’s entry into the fast-growing 1:10 scale World GT onroad racing class. With Team Associated’s twenty-five years of 1:12 and 1:10 scale onroad racing history, we are very excited to offer the Factory Team RC10R5 to this new emerging class. Starting with the highly successful RC12R5 platform, the designers in Area-51 built the bigger RC10R5 on a 2.5mm woven carbon fiber chassis that utilizes a pivot-ball link rear suspension that allows for independent adjustments for chassis roll, bump and alignment. Having the ability to make these chassis adjustments independently gives the RC10R5 greater potential to get the best possible handling from the car and the track surface. While testing, the pivot ball-link chassis has proven to be more durable in high speed impacts and much better in bumpy track conditions.

Team Orion Voltage regulator

Team Orion Voltage regulator

After having changed the electric racing market by establishing the LiPo as a standard worldwide, Team Orion is turning their attentions to using LiPo for RX packs. Since Lipo packs give a nominal voltage of 7.4 volts, and 8,4 volts when fully charged, it can’t be used with many receiver or servos without a voltage regulator. While there are some regulators already on the market, these are very low tech and not very resistant to the abuse that can occur when mounted in an RC car. Team Orion have produced a concept which has been made specifically to withstand this abuse, with their new Voltage regulator coming mounted in a protective casing.
