Oscar Cabezas wins Rd3 Spanish Nats

Serpent have a report from the 3rd round of the Spanish 1/8th scale on road Nationals that were run under changeable conditions in Gijon, in the North of the country. Qualification saw Serpent racer Oscar Cabezas put two bad runs behind him to take the pole position, with a lap record run, in the final heat of the day. A rough start to the 45-minute encounter saw Oscar hit several times, which dropped him down to fourth position, but he quickly worked his way back into the race lead and soon opened up a lead of several seconds. At the 25-minute mark, entering the pits at the same time as the second placed car, his pit crew had trouble with one of the wheels losing him the lead. Oscar set about a determined drive to chase down the new leader and with 7-minutes remaining he retook control of the race where he would stay until the finish to take his first win of the season ahead of the Mugen pairing of Josué Artiles in 2nd and Nacho Lopez in 3rd.

The 2nd round of the Singapore 1/8 RCMC on road series saw round 1 winner Tay Wui Kiat come under serious pressure with many competitive racers like Nelson Lee, Sam Cheng, Andrew Chin, Don Chng and many more pushing hard. At the 25min mark Don Chng driving a Shepherd Velox, in its first race, managed to take the lead and never looked back taking the win ahead of Andrew Chin in 2nd, 3 laps behind, and Jesse Wu in 3rd.
