Puerto Rico National Championship Rd2

Puerto Rico National Championship Rd2

The 2nd round of the Puerto Rico National Championships was run last weekend at the country’s Isabela Track. Qualifying in 1/8th scale went the way of round 1 winner and Mugen racer Andy Báez and he carried forward that form to the final, taking an easy win ahead of the Kyosho pairing of Ito Nieves and Fernando Méndez. In the 1/10th 200mm class, the pole position went to Serpent racer Alfred Aeschliman but he had bad luck in the final and this enabled the Mugen driver Juan “My Bad” Rodríguez into the lead from where he could take the win. Just behind a recovering Andy Báez came up behind Serpent racer Edgar Tirado and with 3 minutes to go in the 45 minute final, was able to take the 2nd position from him.
